Harold Westwood Concrete Inc

Dave Westwood of Harold Westwood Concrete poured our backyard patio in the summer of 2019. During the following winter, we noticed that water was pooling on it near the foundation (at the time he poured it, he assured us this wouldn’t happen because it would be graded so the water would run away from the house). I e-mailed Dave twice about the problem, but he did not respond. Despite multiple attempts, I was unable to raise him on the phone, either. Frustrated at his lack of response, I finally reached out to his father, Harold. He admitted that his son Dave “wasn’t good about returning calls”, but promised he would prevail upon him to reach out to address the problem. In his defense, he mentioned that Harold Westwood Concrete had recently lost two employees and was simply overwhelmed with work, and that contributed to his son’s lack of response. In any event, it’s inexcusable. I’m not sure I’ve ever experienced such an utter lack of follow-through by any local business. If you’re looking for someone to pour your deck or driveway and then wash their hands of you, this is probably the company for you.

My colored stamped concrete driveway had chipped and lost patches of color and was a real eyesore Dave fixed all the chips restored the color and sealed the driveway.I think it looks better now than when it was first done.We have had many neighbors remark how good it looks..Some other companies said they would have to replace the driveway.

The work performed was outstanding.  The stamped concrete looks great.  After the job was already underway, and the concrete was already being poured, I made some requests for slight changes, and Dave took my request and made the changes with no issues at all. I also asked for them to add a new post for a basketball hoop, which they also did at no additional charge. Overall, it was a great experience working with Harold and his son.

Harold came out and provided the estimate promptly when I requested in March. He stated that he would not be able to fit us into his schedule until June. He phoned in mid-April and was able to fit us in the following week. We paid $3500 before work started and the balance upon completion. The job took just two days. We were happy that there was very minimal damage done to the end of the lawn and planting beds with the forms.

Mr. Westwood returned our inquiry phone call promptly and came over the next day to give us an estimate. We agreed to hire his company for the repairs, and the work was scheduled for the day after. The crew arrived on time and went right to work. All the repairs were completed the same day and to our satisfaction. The workers were very competent and did an excellent job. We are very pleased.

Excellent experience. Harold had replaced this porch for us 23 years ago, but not even his work can stand up to critters tunneling underneath -- a problem we since have solved. Scheduled the work about a month in advance, were told it might be done earlier. Harold kept us updated on his schedule and the removal and concrete pouring in fact were done about a week early. Crew arrived on time, worked hard and quickly. New porch looks great and is properly pitched. Our porch is covered and has pillars supporting the covering roof; we had to hire a carpenter to brace the porch roof so the support pillars could be moved out of the way, but that was not a problem.

THIS IS A GREAT COMPANY. THEY ARE VERY HONEST AND PROFESSIONAL. THEY TAKE PRIDE IN THEIR WORK AND THE WORK WAS COMPLETED PROMPTLY AS SCHEDULED. HAROLD KEPT US UPDATED ON WHEN THEY WOULD BE HERE AND HOW LONG THE PROJECT WOULD TAKE. THE WORK AREA WAS LEFT NEAT AND CLEAN. I PLAN TO HAVE THEM REPLACE MY DRIVE IN THE FUTURE WITH A STAMPED CONCRETE DRIVE.

HAROLD WAS THERE REALLY QUICK! IF YOU HAVE A LITTLE JOB, HE'S THE MAN. VERY PLEASANT & FINISHED THE JOB IN 3 DAYS.
