Creative Finishes

Joanne Voll of Creative Finishes is amazing! In 2007 we bought a home that had had a fire in 2004 and although it had been completely rehabbed afterward and the ?bones? of the house were good, the interior looked like very basic new construction, sprayed white walls, very blah, etc. It lacked character. We knew of Creative Finishes and their reputation for absolutely the best quality design, workmanship and materials. So we had a consultation with Joanne and although we knew that redecorating a whole house is a massive project for any contractor (this was 3,000 ft sq!), we were delighted that Joanne was very comfortable with taking on the job. In addition, we were so impressed with her organizational skills (one of our top priorities) that we also hired her to manage the entire redesign as well as handle the wall faux finishing and painting since we were living half a country away and were not planning to move in for 6 months. Joanne gave us gorgeous wall and wood trim ideas, and bringing in a designer that she recommended (R. S. Interiors, Inc. of Wheaton, IL), we finalized a plan that fit our budget and moved forward. Even though we were 800 miles away, Joanne was in touch with us frequently to discuss progress and additional ideas. She also oversaw the activities of the various subcontractors we hired. We flew in to check on progress a few times and there were never any nasty surprises. She was always pleasant, even when we wanted to change directions a couple times (a sure sign of a great contractor); and with her help we were able to achieve the personalized touch that we had been looking for. We were very enthusiastic about her designs, and 3 years later we still love them. One of her designs in our home was even featured in a book! Creative Finishes gave us absolutely dependable service and her final cost came in at exactly our contract price. No excuses, just gorgeous work. She listened well to our initial ideas and delivered remarkable spaces based on our hopes and expectations. We are VERY picky about execution and her techniques are stunning. I should add that Creative Finishes was not the most expensive quote we got, nor the lowest. For pure value, Creative Finishes cannot be beaten. We love our home now; it?s warm and charming.
