Construction started on time with some lag in time frame, but nothing significant. However, as the project progressed and Tony Balinski juggled our addition with another project, the time frame was increasingly drawn out and the attention to detail waned. When I asked for lien waivers, I was told by Tony that two of the subcontractors were out of business and so he could not get waivers but they had been paid. Surprised by that, I reached out to one of the subcontractors and found that he was very much still in business and had not been paid in full; I then heard the same from the other contractor. I therefore terminated the contract, giving Tony the required notice to finish the outstanding items; he failed to do so.
