Very professional and helpful on the phone. They couldn't service my particular washer, but gave good information and a recommendation for who to call.

Excellent work and price! We had a great experience with our furnace install this last week. Greg knew exactly what we needed to properly heat our home efficiently and was so knowledgeable with the furnace he installed. He took the extra time to explain and demonstrate how to run the unit flawlessly. Greg even called the next day to make sure we were satisfied with everything and that the furnace was operating correctly. That’s how we knew we made the right choice having such a professional do the job! We will definitely call this company again in the future for any additional HVAC service!!

My refrigerator is built in and very very old, nothing worked. I called them and they came out. They replaced the defrost timer assembly. The cost broke into $ 124 for the service call and $346 for the defrost timer. It is an expensive defrost timer, I investigated afterwards and found that it was a high quality defrost timer, I had already had a cheap one before so he recommended he put on a better one. I really like them. They are not cheap but they are the right price for a good set of work.

Fantastic. The company was professional and extremely responsive. They understood that it was a very hot day and uncomfortable in the home, and did everything they could (including calling back at least 2 times) to offer simple solutions. They eventually needed to come out and although they were very busy, they fit us in that afternoon. They took the time to explain the process, what was needed, and what to look out for in the future. Extremely pleased and would highly recommend!

Fantastic. Prompt and professional. We've used them as a sounding board for related projects, and have recommended them to others.

We've used them for years. They've done different things. The air conditioner and furnace. It took one day to complete. They were fine.

I had another company out to clean my A/C. The serviceman listed a slew of problems with my A/C (and furnace) and recommended replacement. A salesman came out to pitch a new unit. I wasn't suspicious of the whole experience, so I decided to pursue second opinions and (if required) competitive quotes.
To that end, I called G&S. He looked over my systems, cleaned the A/C (which the other company's serviceman had apparently NOT cleaned) and the furnace, gave me a frank review of the systems and recommended there was no real reason to replace the A/C unit. He charged the system and we reviewed some possible improvements. He showed me everything he did and pointed out a number of minor issues with the system... none of which required addressing (or had already been addressed).
G&S now has my business.

After the service call which required a part that the company no longer makes, Greg and I decided that a new furnace would be the best way to go. After getting the current furnace working again on a "borrowed" part, my new furnace was installed within the week. I have been a satisfied G & S customer for over ten years.

It went well. We have a furnace/ac unit from the 1950s and the tech was unsure how to proceed but was able to get in contact with someone from the shop who was able to guide him through the work. We were pleased with their evaluation of our system. Highly recommended and did not disappoint.

We have used G&S for $25 years, and recommend them to all of our friends and family. They are always quick to respond and very honest and reliable.

It went great. G&S responded quickly to my initial request as well as my follow-up calls. They were interested in our needs and did not try to sell us a product that we didn't need Not only were their prices competitive , they were easy to do business with. They responded quickly to our questions, did quality work, and delivered on their commitments.

Our AC unit on main floor completely stopped working. Called for service on that unit, and to do maintenance check on unit for upper floor. Found first floor unit to need new motor, plus whatever else was wrong once working. Cost for motor was going to be $900, plus additional for other issues that may be found once running. We have had a leak in past, was afraid that would add to the costs. Units were 15 years old, felt best to replace with high efficiency, quieter models.
One of the brackets holding unit to the wall fell off, took a bit of work to replace. The additional cost to fix seemed high, had no choice at that point. Overall was fine, will call again for service as we have used G & S in the past for maintenance servicing. Due to first unit not working and cost to fix, while warm and humid, we did not have time to shop around for pricing. Techs (Nick and ?) were courteous, and explained everything. My yard was a bit muddy where they were working, the guys were even careful when coming to work in the house--no mud inside!

I haven't gotten the bill yet but I'm sure it is reasonable because they usually are. I keep using them because I am very confident in the quality of the work. I can talk to him about what I like and he will converse with me. He's been doing stuff for us for 30 years. He has always done an excellent job. The price is fair. It is not a great deal but it's a good deal.

My daughter called G&S on Friday afternoon complaining of a loud noise in the furnace. They told her they would not be able to come out until after the weekend at noon on Monday, which they did. Immediately after arriving, the serviceman inspected the furnace and "suggested" that there were 2 or 3 ways that G&S could refuse to honor the warranty as payment for the repairs. It seemed odd that they would try to instill this anxiety - but the reason became very clear at the completion of the job when the serviceman handed her a bill for an additional $450.00 - that's not a typo - $450.00, which is in addition to the Approximately $1000.00 which is what the warranty was going to pay to G&S. This is supposed to be a Full "parts & labor warranty!! So it appears that from the very beginning they wanted her to "be aware" of the fact that they were doing her a" favor" by honoring the warranty, and that she should not complain about any extra charges. So, in the end they charged Trane $1000.00 from the warranty - then charged her an extra $450.00 out of pocket for amongst other things----$250.00 for a warranty processing fee---seriously?? She was so flabbergasted & upset at that point that she just gave him a check rather than argue with him in order to "get rid of him".
So, if you use G&S will they show up? Yes. Will they properly repair your unit? Probably. Will you be overcharged? ABSOLUTELTY!!!
Gregg should be ashamed of himself for running a business this way, and don't let him suggest that he's not aware of what's going on -- he spoke to the serviceman a couple of times via phone while the job was being performed. Not to mention that he should be reviewing work orders from the daily activities of his employees - and if he's not - Why not?
I thought it would be a good idea to contact "Trane" with regard to my concerns. In doing so, I found out why G&S displays this attitude of indifference. In Tranes response to me, they made no inquiry regarding the specifics of my concerns. They merely said "sorry you had a bad experience - maybe you should find a different dealer!?!? Apparently indifference is standard operating procedure throughout "Trane".
Finally, it's also shameful that he would portray himself as an honest businessman here on Angies list where they work hard to provide us with good honest references.

We called Saturday after hours but Chris took our call and got all the information plus the model type of the furnace. Greg called Monday morning and took some more information. He sent a tech out ASAP. The tech then went and got the part needed ans was fight back. The air was fixed by 11am
Really great and fast service. The tech was polite, knowledgeable and punctual. He let us know what was going on and exactly how much it would cost. Because G and S service is a Trayne distributor they had the part and the machine to program the part right away. We did not have to wait a few days for the part, everything was done the first day. It was 95 degrees outside and very humid. We are so grateful for their fast and efficient service and their labor charge was less that what our old service company charged.
We highly recommend G and S Service A++++

I really don't like to anybody a bad review but my pet peeve is a company, any company, that does not return calls. Calls from potential customers asking for estimates. They are in business to make money, aren't they? Are they just so stinkin' rich they don't need any more business? And the thing of it is, we've used G & S in the past and have always been satisfied. Oh well...

My furnace went out on the coldest night so far. Did some research on Angie's List waiting for services to open in the morning. Made some calls to get an appointment and rates. G&S was able to get someone out within a couple of hours and their rates sounded reasonable. Chris answered my call and gave me her name without me having to ask for it (how many services do that these days?). She asked the make, model and approximate age of the furnace as well as the usual questions.
Greg called at the beginning of the two hour window and was at the house in ten minutes. (Chris also followed up with a call when I missed Greg's first call.) From the time Greg introduced himself to the time he left it was about 30-45 minutes. He was able to diagnosis the problem (the igniter, he had one with him), install it and advised me it would take a long time for the house to warm back up because the house was so cold to begin with and it was so cold outside.
I appreciate the friendly and prompt service. I will definitely call G&S whenever my furnace needs service.

I think that their service is great and their prices are way more than fair. Their estimates have been great. I think that their prices have been better than most. I think they understand how to do things the right way. Every year we have them come out and check the furnace before we turn it on and during the summer, we tell them how to verify the cooling before we turn it on. He has come out numerous times without charging. I use him for everything.

The service person arrived on time and took about 1/2 hour to do the service. He then listened to the airflow on all floors and pointed out some problems that are likely to cause a failure in the future. Since the furnace is already 18 years old, he had the owner of the company call me the next day to discuss all my options, including pending federal legislation that could limit my choices. I decided to wait to see if the problems showed up before next year when I could better budget for a replacement. He gave me an explanation of signs of parts failing and to call if these noises or failures come about.
