Auto Body Work
Much like my past experiences they were very attentive, professional , and courteous during the initial consultation. When we reported an issue a few days later it was a far different experience.We brought a vehicle in for a door replacement/repair after an accident. The price seemed fair and we went forward. We picked the vehicle up a few days later and it looked great. As we parted they again assured us if we had any trouble the work had a lifetime guarantee and we just needed to let us know if we had any trouble.Less than a week later the door didn't seem to line up correctly, it was hard to close, and the hinges appeared to be bound up.We called them and they told us to bring it in. We did and they called us later and said the hinge pins were bad and that they would fix it for an additional fee. "Unacceptable" I stated. The owner told me that this was a common problem with this model vehicle and they were not going to repair under warranty. I looked at the bill they sent to the insurance company and the hinge pins were listed. I called one more time and told them they had one last chance to make good and fix the issue before they lost my business and they said they would discount the repair. My mother had a very similar experience with a hood they painted. The hood started to pit less than a month after they sprayed and even though they boasted a lifetime warranty they offered to do nothing. Be careful. Verbal guarantees are worth nothing to these people

"The hinge problem to which this client refers was not part of the original estimate or repair bill. The door we replaced was never a problem. We offered to replace the hinges (which have been retooled by GM for this very problem) at a minimal cost.I stand by my warranty- but I cannot be responsible for factory defects or preexisting conditions. We did a good job for a fair price. By the way "a few days later" was about a year."
