Salesman was nice; quote was fairly high.  I got several, however, and gave them the chance to meet the middle bid, which they did.  My one condition was that works needed to kick off and wrap up this month. After making some calls, the salesman got me a new contract that met my needs, awesome.  Then I get a welcome letter, with a start date of next month. Yikes.
Communication between sales and operations and me could have been smoother (i never got a call back from the office)  but I crossed my fingers and the yes! the installers did arrive on time the day I was promised.  The fence itself is gorgeous- we love it.  The crew did a lot of work in a day and half.

Good at first. Came installed the fence quickly. Developed issues with latches and hinges. They came out once tried to fix it. The problem is a design flaw that can be easily fixed. I have called repeatedly and have yet to hear from the. John Bellie was supposed to call..... Haven't heard from them????

It was a frigid monday morning and two men arrived  with a truck full of lumber at my office to commence the much awaited Fence installation project.Prior to that, the company had already done the groundwork needed for the installation.I had  got the approval from the HOA and they had got the necessary permit from the architectural board of the Village. The project got delayed by couple of months because of the inclement weather .As per the community rules only the Shadow Box Straight style Western Red Cedar fence was allowed. The contractors came pretty early and started cutting the posts as per the plan. The holes were dug and inspected before the posts went in and concrete poured. This was all that was done on day one. Day two also started pretty early and continued with wind chill in mid twenties. All the cedar planks were now fastened to create the shadow box design. Finally the gate was installed and bolts put in to complete the project. The fence looks absolutely stunning and all set to provide us with privacy and lots of playarea for years to come.

I really like the sales guy a lot, however, I saw that they put a wire fence and they did a railing but am not sure if it is the same guy who did it. I have been trying honestly to keep them come back to fix something since July and maybe even before that. We had a fence put in but but the thing wasn't closing properly and it it took me forever to get them out there and this guy in an older gentleman. He's wonderful, adorable and he did finally came out and he said he's going to figure out what they're going to do but he never called me back and tried to chase him down that long.

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!When purchasing the fence the sales rep told me the crews were all trained and certified to install the fence by the manufacture. During the installation process i watched the two guys who were installing my fence and they looked anything but trained, in fact one looked like he was just brought to help. I watched the installer beat on the top of a picket with a metal pole to insert it in the fence causing it to crack. he then proceeded to leave it in and cover it with the top rail as if no one just saw what he did. Numerous posts that were installed have scratches and gouges from the installer cutting them on my concrete patio. The installer that came to install my fence and was missing one of my gates. the last problem with my installation was they installed my rear gate with locking mechanism in the alley so the clasping end is in the alley for anyone to just break off with a hammer. the date is now April 30th and my problems have been unresolved, i still have no gate and i still have all the damaged pieces of fencing. I have made multiple attempts to get these issues fixed by talking with my sales rep and I am promised a lot but receive nothing. Please do not use this company learn from my mistake. May 3rd i had the pleasure speaking to DAN from Tru Link fencing who laughed and hung up on me when I was attempting to explain the ramifications of not having a gate when owning two dogs. DAN also showed on the phone his utter dissrespect for me a paying customer. I then spoke to DAVID who is in charge of DAN who explained to me that they do not check the fence components when they recieve them from the manufactuer until they come out and install the fence. This response was to when I asked how you could come and ter down a fence and not have all the parts to put up a new one. also today when showing the crew member the problems I noticed that the top of the rear gate was now coming apart only 3 weeks after installation.
Response from Tru-Link Fence
"I met with [member name removed] and went over all the issues so we could rectify them. Im sure [member name removed]is waiting for us to rectify the issues before he states anything further....but [member name removed] and I discussed and agreed on the issues resulting in both gates being replaced all damaged pickets and rails being replaced all damaged posts being replaced 200.00 off his bill the manufacture agreed to a 100.00 gift card due to their not shipping all the materials I am hoping the meeting between [member name removed] and I will result in the installation he expected. We made a mistake and we are making our best efforts to rectify them. I hopeful there is something to be said for a company that has made a mistake but doesnt ignore the mistake but rectifies them to the best of their ability. John Belli President"

We are very happy with our new steel fence installed by Tru-Link Fence, Skokie. Before we made our decision,  we checked their previous steel fence installationsand we liked what we saw.  On one occasion, my husband  saw a homeowner leavingtheir house and the owner said they were happy with Tru-Link Fence.
We also visited their showroom in Skokie and we were impressed.Their saleman, Bernie, was very patient, knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with.
Their workers came promptly at 7:30 AM, took out the old fence, carefully took measurements and proceeded to install the fence.

I was i  need for a new fence could not afford wrought iron so decided to go with aluminum which looks  like like wrought iron but less expensive. I contacted several companies for an estimate and a friend found an ad for TruLink, I contacted the company and Bob came out for the estimate. The price was in my budget and I thought he was a nice guy and decided to go with TruLink. I discussed with Bob that I need this to be a locked fence, here explained to me that it will cost an additional 125.00 for a lock fence and he explained that the lock is a latch lock and ho it should work. The fence was installed about 2 weeks later, the installers were 2 very nice men I have nothing negative to say about them. The installers also explained the lock and that it isn't really secure, someone can sticktheir hand between the bars and lift the latch(even if you have locked). They told me to contact TruLink and explain my situation, so I did, I spoke with Bob who seemed very upset with the installers and he said he will call me back after he spoke with them. Well he has never called back and I contacted the company 10 times since the fence was installed every time I call I am immediately transferred to Bob's voicemail after 10 messages I stopped calling. I will never do business with this company again. I have contacted Lowes to replace the gate. TruLink is very unprofessional and I would not recommend this company.
Response from Tru-Link Fence
"I contacted Member and told her that we recognized the problem with that type of lock. We replaced the old lock with a new type that will allows her to lock and unlock from both sides."

Had an estimator at the new address within days of our request. Richard was thorough and explained how they could enclose our yard. I was given different options and had a diagram and estimate in my hand before he left. I did have other estimates that were in the same price range - none of them gave me a follow up call to see if I had made a decision even though I had expressed that we needed the fence right away. I decided to go with Tru-Link only because Richard seemed to know his stuff. Unfortunately, it still took me 3 calls to get this project going. The appointment was set for 10 days later. The team showed up on schedule and they dealt with the local city inspector for completion. The cost was exactly what we expected and the fence looks great. The crew was even considerate enough to keep the yard neat and put the extra dirt dug up where we asked them to.

They didn't measure or use a string line.  They started digging in out neightbors yard.  The gate was made incorrectly.  We took it anyways but, the company never did call to thank us for excepting a gate that wasn't made correctly.

Initial contact and fence installation went well. Product quality and company professionalism were sub-par.
Response from Tru-Link Fence
"Member, only one correction that I can make which is the fence was installed July 6, 2004. Please call me to discuss. It is not uncommon for posts to rot within an 8 year span concrte having nothing to do with it. I post the correction only to inform members of the accurate age of the fence. In no terms is this an excuse for the way you were treated. i would like to offer a refund to accomodate your time on repairing the post yourself."

My husband was quite frustrated with no real time scheudule for when they would arrive or when the work would actually start.  No one stayed to find out if we were happy with the completed work.  We only reicieved a phone call asking for the remainder of the money.  The clean up was fair.

The fence looked beautiful, but a few weeks after they put it in the gate was pulling out of supports so we called to have it fixed. When we called they told us to hammer it in ourself, which I didn't feel comfortable doing. Eventually they came out to fix it, but the guy that came out to fix it wasn't putting things up level. We didn't like the job he did, so we had to have yet another guy come out to fix his job. It finally got fixed and now looks nice.

We shopped around on Angie's List and narrowed our fence options to three businesses. TruLink offered a competitive price, but threw in a couple of extras (covering up an old laundry line that was in poured concrete inside our yard, building an extra niche to place our garbage cans in, etc.). We also really liked our sales guy. He's retired and does this for 'fun' during the summer months of the year. After discussing our bids and the service that we anticipated getting - we opted for TruLink. I called to arrange for our install and left a message. After multiple calls, I finally had a return from TruLink and was told that a scheduler would call me. We had some urgency in getting started, as we had company coming in a week or so and wanted the fence and backyard to be completed by the time they arrived. We quickly pulled together our permits...but waited and waited for TruLink's scheduler to call me back. All in all, I think from first contact (with permit in hand) to actual schedule date (not install...just schedule) - took a week and a half. Once our install date came, we were told it would take two days. Three gentlemen arrived at 7:00 a.m. and began work. My husband tried to communicate, but they spoke very little English. In short - they delivered the job in one day and added some additional beautiful design accents to the work. Despite the 'back office' being hard to navigate through, our start and ending experience with TruLink was great. Our fence is beautiful - we love it!

I requested their best man. The crew made it so the fence gate didn't drag on the ground anymore. They did a good job on a fence that hadn't seen attention since 1997.
