PEACOCK RELOCATION SYSTEMS INC

When they arrived several days late there were missing boxes and broken contents. Also had boxes that did not belong to me. Repeatedly called them. They said that they could not find my boxes which contained a saxophone, pictures, linens, etc. but at least I had belongings from someone else to use. My son had to quit music lessons because of the instrument loss and I had to spend money I did not have to replace linens and decorations.

Paolo was on time, very detailed and knows exactly what he is doing. It was because of his visit that I decided to use Peacock. They showed up, prepped and had the truck loaded exactly when Paolo estimated it would. The movers were nice, but they put boxes that were clearly labeled fragile under a pile of other boxes, which broke antiques. Many boxes were in the basement instead of their labeled rooms. The truck sat at our old house for hours because they were short 8 drivers and they charged us for the delay. To make a long story short, a man claiming to be the owner walked into my house, told my husband that I knew about all the charges (I did NOT), and had him pay the bill that was almost double what was estimated. They made 3 different charges to our credit card, none of which added up to what the bill was. They changed their story every time I proved my case, even after I contacted the BBB. There is a reason why their BBB membership is revoked. I will never use this company again.

WE RECEIVED BIDS FROM 5 MOVERS, AND PEACOCK WAS SIGNIFICANTLY LOWER. WE CHOSE THEM BECAUSE THEY WERE THE CHEAPEST AND, AS MY HUSBAND SAID 'WE'RE NOT MOVING THE LOUVRE''. THE PACKERS AND MOVERS WERE VERY HARD WORKING AND POLITE, AND DID AN EXCELLENT JOB. I WOULD USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN, BUT THERE WERE SOME THINGS THAT WERE BOTHERSOME. PAOLO, THE ESTIMATOR HAD A VERY DETAILED WAY OF INVENTORYING EVERY SINGLE ITEM IN THE HOUSE, SO I FIGURED HIS ESTIMATE WOULD BE RIGHT ON AS FAR AS BOXES,TIME, AND MEN NEEDED. WRONG! THEY SENT 2 GUYS TO PACK, AND THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE. INSTEAD OF TAKING APPROXIMATELY 6 HOURS FOR THE ACTUAL MOVE, IT WAS 9.5. IN THE END, WE PAID $500 MORE THAN THE ORIGINAL QUOTE, WHICH WAS STILL LESS THAN THE OTHERS. TO SAVE TIME, I WAS ACTUALLY MOVING BOXES LIKE ONE OF THE GUYS. THEY ALSO DID NOT''PREP'' THE FLOORS IN THE NEW HOUSE, I HAD TO PUT DOWN CARDBOARD MYSELF. NOR WOULD THEY MOVE THINGS INTO OUR WALKUP ATTIC, I HAD TO DO THAT MYSELF, TOO.
