Midwest Salt

Good quality mulch. However....Midwest Salt shorted my residential mulch order. I ordered 8 yards. They delivered between 4.5 and 5 yards. I contacted Midwest Salt to politely inform them of the shortage. I offered Midwest Salt an opportunity to send a representative to come walk my property so they could see that they indeed shorted the order. The Midwest Salt representative said he would look into the issue and follow-up with me. He did not follow-up with me. Buy your mulch elsewhere...the dollar or two you save per yard at Midwest Salt will be offset by not receiving your order in full.

I have used their delivery service for years. It's always been on time. I called  them and set an appointment for the delivery. They had to juggle their schedule to meet my need for a Saturday delivery.

The delivery man came on time and carried in the 36 blocks to my basement and checked the timing on the water softener. He filled up the salt container

 and stacked the rest of the blocks in a convenient place. It's very convenient.

Poor. This took me a week to get done when for the last 15 years I've used them and all went smoothly. Unfortunately, the wonderful gentleman who owned this place retired and moved west. Ever since they sold the business to someone who moved it to Batavia, it has been a challenge get orders planned and executed properly. Very disappointed to see a great business become just average. That said, they do deliver all the way to the softener in the basement so I will continue to use them despite the challenges I've had with this outing a the last few.

Fairly well though they've become less reliable recently as the business was sold and has relocated. Their delivery times are now more difficult to coordinate and phone ordering which used to be trivial is now troublesome. I will continue to use them but the service is declining :-(

They first delivered salt to my home when I bought my home 15 years ago and continue to do so today. They are fantastic.

The employee that came out was very helpful and insisted upon carrying the salt blocks to our basement near the softener, as well as stacking them. Reasonable price and included a free education about how our particular water softener works. Very quick response time and professional service.
