We were looking for someone to re-stain our fiberglass front door, re-stain our painted steel garage door and to re-stain and seal all of the wood shutters on the front of our house (18 individual shutters). Most of the original work had been done about 5-6 years ago and it had peeled and faded and the wood on the shutters wasn't properly protected. We turned to Angie's List to look for a painter who could handle the job. We found out after a couple estimates that this wasn't such a simple job since our goal was to achieve a very close color match and we were dealing with three very different surfaces. We had an appointment with a company called Precision Painting and after a very thorough look at everything, they said that although they could do the job for us, they would honestly recommend Buddy Plumlee since he was a very talented faux finish painter and artist. Precision contacted Buddy for us and he got in touch with us right away. He came out to look at the project and established what type of materials he would need and how long he anticipated the project to take. He told us that he was sure that using different techniques that he could give us the effect we were looking for. We paid a 1/3 deposit to purchase the materials and set a start date of May 4, 2012. He arrived as scheduled and went to work. He was always very conscientious of his surroundings, protecting our shrubs and flowers as well as the floor of our front hallway when he was working on the inside of the front door. His work was very meticulous and the clean-up at the end of each day was thorough. The job was completed on time and the results exceeded our expectations. He was confident in his workmanship and assured us that if we ever had any issues with the finish that he would take care of it.
