"The member was in the process of remolding her kitchen, ie: the floors & counters. The condition of her 30 plus yr old kitchen cabinetry had several coats of dirt & some type of oil which they applied over the dirt, making our job a challenge from the start. Part of our agreed "Face Lift", was to strip 2 upper cabinet doors which were previously stained the wrong color. Which we stripped twice b/4 she approved of the color. When we took the doors down from the frames the hinges fell apart. After careful inspection noticed that the hinges were previously broken & been glued back together. As a curiosity to her, not only did I point out the defect to her but went a step further to try to get replacement hinges for her. Because these hinges are obsolete, I found a source in Vernon Hills, IL which had a hinge that would fit her existing holes. This resulted in time & expense considering she lives in Evanston my shop is in Wauconda & Vernon Hills is the source for the replacement hinges. In the end the replacement hinges didn't fit. Currently I'm waiting for a shipment of the new original hinges to arrive from NC. There was also a timing issue with her, she wanted the cabinets finished b/4 her flooring people came back for a retouch which resulted in an evening session on her cabinetry when she was going to be out of the house so, we settle on the bill b/4 I was completely finished which she agreed to. Regarding the veneer panel I didn't do it but I will fix it at her expense."
