Description of Work: Lowell and Tod remodeled my basement, changed four doors, one window and added two steps. They also painted and stained floors and decks.

Description of Work: Installed a tile backsplash in the kitchen, undercabinet lighting in the kitchen and wired the undercabinet lighting to a new light switch.

Description of Work: Installed a front screen door, fixed and installed a new outdoor lamp post, installed new outdoor lighting fixtures next to the garage doors.

Description of Work: Remodeled kitchen - complete tear out and installation of new cabinets, farmhouse sink, tile back splash, plus installed old kitchen cabinets in garage and basement utility room.

Description of Work: Rebuilt walk in Bay Window damaged from years of water leaks. Including replacing 10 Casement windows.

Description of Work: Lowell Pate, president of Homestead Improvements, was hired for new oak floor and staircase renovation. Lowell and his assistant Todd, tore out the carpeting. Fiberboard that was installed over the plywood in 1979, when the raised ranch house was built, required removal due to wood floors cannot be nailed to fiberboard. Squeaks were eliminated by drilling screws into the joists, then vapor barrier and solid oak wood floors were installed. Crown molding (in living room, dining room and hall) and new baseboards, new wood floor registers (Lowell stained to match floor), remodeled stair steps, new oak steps (Lowell stained to match) tore out old railing and installed new iron balusters and topped new railing with oak and finally, removed two cold air return non-functioning registers, and repaired the resultant wall openings.The whole upper level was done- 3 bedrooms, living and dining room.

Description of Work: Homestead Improvements installed an entry door system (front door, sidelights and transom) and storm door. Lowell Pate, the business owner, was punctual and very professional throughout the process; from the initial appointment to view the project, take measurements and develop the quote until the installation was completed. Lowell addressed all of my questions and provided the information needed to make decisions regarding color, style, hardware, etc. The project was delayed twice (an error by the door manufacturer and extreme weather conditions). In each instance, Lowell kept me informed of the status and rescheduled the installation as quickly as feasible. The door is beautiful! We will use Homestead Improvements for future projects.

Description of Work: Lowell Pate (Homestead Improvements Inc.) changed the opening/ doorway between two rooms and is absolutely fabulous. I'm pretty picky and they did a great job. Not only with the actual work product but they took extra time to show me options for the end result to be sure I would be happy. You don't often find that level of service and workmanship. They are also really neat. I think the house was cleaner when they left than when they started and that's pretty hard when you're doing drywall work. I won't hesitate to recommend them and to have them back for additional renovation projects!

Description of Work: Replaced several broken, cracked, or missing pieces of cedar siding around the entire house.

Description of Work: We had a number of projects that were out of our area of expertise as far as DIY improvements. Lowell was on time for the estimate and was very thorough in checking out what would need to be done to accomplish each job. We had him install two pull down attic ladders, repair drywall, install two new bathroom counter tops, sinks and faucets, as well as clean and recaulk the bathtub ceramic walls. The job was completed quickly and clean up was good. We are so pleased with his professionalism and evident care in craftsmanship, we have already recommended him to our son, who also had him do work. Looking to re-do the kitchen, next year... I know who we'll be calling!

Description of Work: I used Homestead Improvements to help me redo my sun porch.

Description of Work: Homestead Improvements did a complete bathroom remodel for us. They did a great job, were professional and really great to work with. The bathroom looks great and we would definitely use them again.

Description of Work: Homestead Improvements Inc. added a brick/frame 3rd car garage to our existing 2 car garage. HI Inc. handled the entire project from the design concept to the finished building.

Description of Work: Our sunroom floor was rotting underneath the tile flooring due to its position directly on top of wood that sat on a concrete slab. Years of leakage to the concrete floor due to poor workmanship when the aluminum siding was put on outside the enclosed sun room caused rain to drain down inside of the walls onto the concrete. The wood floor and supports rotted due to the wicking of the water to the wood. We discovered this when we could not open the patio door and found that the floor had begun to sink in one corner of the room. Mr. Pate removed the aluminum siding, the tile and wooden floor, and the rotting wood posts supporting the roof of the sun room. He replaced the floor base with the correct materials and leveled the floor, added insulation, replaced the rotting wood posts, drywalled the areas that needed to be drywalled, replaced our patio doors, and put new tile on the floor. The room was then painted. Mr. Pate was on site daily and worked along with his subcontractors, who were also expert craftsmen. Mr. Pate was always on time, worked throughout the day, cleaned up after the day's work, and provided gracious feedback for any questions we had. We would have no hesitation to ask him to do any additional work in our home. He is truly one of a kind and his work is excellent.

Description of Work: Replaced all the windows (17) and patio door, rebuilt window sills & interior trim, replaced rotted wood around windows and soffit. Remodeled screened-in porch.
