After considering 3 different companies, we went with Apple.  We really liked the fact that they had a showroom where you could actually see all of the products.  During our visit to the showroom, they walked us around, explaining all of our options.  We decided to have them draw up a plan for us, as we had a pretty extensive wish list.  We couldn't have been more pleased--they provided a beautiful design for our backyard.  We signed on for almost all of what they proposed, leaving a few items for a Phase 2.
We are thrilled with the results.  Their crew installed a patio, seat walls, a grill island, outdoor fireplace, lights, and plants. The only downside was that we had to wait an extra week or so for them to start the project because we had so much rain.  In the end, it was definitely worth the wait. We have gotten lots of compliments, and we really enjoy entertaining our guests out on the new patio area.
We're looking forward to completing the pergola and sound next year.

The job went poorly and I would never use them again. They didn’t follow instructions and when they ran into an issue, they simply made an assumption and acted on their own, verses trying to clarify that with us. They wouldn’t just say that they shouldn’t have done that, but they said that we never said not to do it. They never responded to some of the queries that we had. After the end of the job, there were a couple of things that were left undone, and they never would return a call or email.

At the initial meeting with the owner Keith, I was impressed with his relaxed attitude and willingness to work with us as we changed our minds often during the planning phase. He is a decent, honest & knowledgeable. Once we were comfortable with the landscape plans, we gave the green light. Understandably, we waited a few months while his other jobs were in progress. During completion of our job, the crew cut the cable line several times & electric line though they were flagged/marked. The sprinkler system was also damaged. They did a nice job on the patio installation as well as the pond. Most of the plants and bushes worked well, except for some that were poorly placed for light, water and space requirements. We suggest being very involved in plant selection & placement, remembering everything will grow/spread. Landscapers like to put in a LOT of different kinds of plants, as it looks good at first & most people don't have the patience to wait for things to grow. Try to avoid this, & study the landscape proposal. You may find many plants that attract bees, beetles & other pests, or that will grow higher than you want. Remember that it's cheaper to add more plants later than to let the excess plants (that you've paid for) die off. We would recommend you consider this company when seeking landscape bids.

Keith was very professional, understood our requirements, & had great design ideas. He was also flexible when we needed to make modifications. Unlike many other contractors we contacted, he was responsive and returned our calls within a day or two. The job took a lot longer than expected, but we are very satisfied with the work performed.

BECAUSE LANDSCAPING IS SO VERY DEPENDENT ON WEATHER, I'M NEVER REALLY SURE WHEN THEY'RE GOING TO SHOW UP, BUT AM CONFIDENT EVENTUALLY WORK WILL GET DONE. MY ONLY CRITICISM WOULD BE THAT INSTRUCTION ON HOW TO DO THINGS IS OFFERED ONLY IF ASKED AND, HAVING ALL THIS WORK BE NEW TO ME, I WASN'T SURE WHAT NEEDED TO BE ASKED! SINCE I'VE USED THEM NOW FOR THREE YEARS FOR ANNUAL MAINTENANCE, ETC. I'VE LEARNED WHAT I AM UNCLEAR ABOUT, SO THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN RESOLVED. KEITH IS VERY TALENTED IN POND DESIGN, WORKING WITH THE EXISTING YARD.
