We received four estimates and Evans was right in the middle. He was able to get a crew to our home quickly and promised to be able to complete the job within our tight timeframe. He was advised that we are very picky and had already gone through two other companies due to sub-par wormanship. Mr. Evans assured me that they specialized in drywall and that he had many satisfied customers so we felt comfortable hiring him for the job. The workers and Mr. Evans arrived on time the first day and work went smoothly. Unfortunately, Mr. Evans did not show up for the next few days and the quality of work declined drastically. Even though we were home, one of the workers loudly complained about being there almost the entire time and cussed frequently throughout the day. This made the whole experience negative, especially since nobody corrected him on his unprofessionalism. I even bought the men lunch one day and they had the nerve to complain that they really didn't like this kind of food but they will try to eat it anyway!! They ended up only staying for a couple of hours a day and we were worried about their progress in meeting the timeline. I called the owner and he did show up the last day but only with one worker. I expressed my concern over the quality of the work and he said not to worry. He promised to get everything buttoned up and assured me that we could call him any time after the job was done for follow-up work if anything was missed. I became irritated because that was exactly the reason we hired him in the first place and felt it was inappropriate for him to say this. We then got into another discussion about what percentage of his workload is drywall and Mr. Evans admitted that his main focus is actually remodeling. I was flabbergasted because he initially lied to me about his experience level with drywall just to get the job. After my husband came home shortly thereafter, he inspected the job and was very unhappy with the quality of work. We decided to advise Mr. Evans that he was done and that we would again finish up the work ourselves. Overall, this experience was not a positive one. While Mr. Evans is very nice, I would caution the quality of his work and professionalism of some members of his crew. I cannot comment on his remodeling, but I would not hire him for a drywall job again. We have since hired another drywall company ("Nothing But Drywall" in House Springs) and they finished the job in a few hours and thankfully corrected all of the many mistakes from Evans Remodeling. Buyer beware!
