Overall, we had an excellent experience with Greenscape Homes.  We purchased a spec house on a tear-down lot in Downers Grove.  The floor plan was already designed, but we signed a contract in time to make some modifications.  The team at Greenscape spent several hours with us taking through potential modifications and providing valuable insight and guidance.  While they're not a custom home builder, they were open to allowing us to make changes/additions within reason.  They even worked with us to design a custom mudroom based on several different sample pictures from the Internet.  They had a nice selection of choices for cabinets, floors, granite, etc., and they were patient, helpful, and accommodating as we struggled with finalizing our selections.

Greenscape told us that they would have the home completed in approximately 90 days.  Our friends and family thought it would be impossible, but they were pretty much right on time (with the exception of a few weeks that were out of their control due to storms).  They involved us through the whole construction process, encouraging us to stop by and sign off at different stages (which enabled us to catch any potential issues early so they easily could be fixed).  We got to know the team well, and they seemed to really care that we were happy with the home. 

I've heard horror stories from friends who have had real challenges in the home building process with other builders.  Our experience was completely the opposite.  We think we paid a very fair price for a great quality, beautiful new home.  The entire process was very positive, and the Greenscape team delivered on all of their promises.  I recommend them highly.
