Asbestos Testing, Asbestos Abatement
THE COMPANY REPRESENTATIVE (WHO TURNED OUT TO BE THE OWNER OF THE COMPANY)SHOWED UP WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT AT MY HOUSE TO GIVE ME AN ESTIMATE. (I HAD LEFT A VOICE MAIL MESSAGE REQUESTING A CALL BACK.) HE GAVE ME AN ESTIMATE OF $400 TO REMOVE ASBESTOS FROM TWO FURNACE PIPES. (EXPENSIVE BUT WE FELT WE HAD NO CHOICE AND HE SEEMED LIKE A NICE GUY). THE 'SKILLED TEAM' THAT WAS TO PERFORM THE WORK TURNED OUT TO BE A LONE, UNSUPERVISED GUY IN A PICKUP TRUCK (WHO SHOWED UP A HALF AN HOUR EARLY AT 7 AM.) THE WORKER DID NOT SPEAK ENGLISH WELL. SINCE THIS WAS A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS OPERATION, I CALLED THE COMPANY BUT THE OWNER REFUSED TO TALK TO ME. (HOWEVER HE DID CALL HIS WORKER ON HIS CELL PHONE EVEN THOUGH HE WAS STANDING 5 FT AWAY FROM ME). NEEDLESS TO SAY, I REFUSED TO HAVE HIM DO THE JOB.
