I spoke with a gentleman on 11/20, learned the information above, and scheduled an appointment to receive a complete, detailed estimate on Friday, December 4, 2015 between 8 and 9 am. No call, no show. I will not use this provider and encourage others to pass over as well due to the lack of clarity in the deals and the obvious lack of appreciation for potential customers. We tried to describe our deal as best as possible and I'm sure that you read all fine print about it. 2. All the time we strongly recommend a salesman to inspect and measure the crawlspace for potential additional charges(clean up, hauling debris, over sq.ft, potential seepage repair cost or insulation on the ceiling. 3. Every crawl space is different and that's why some fit in the deal but of course some don't and if you would like to complete it- cost more. It sounds to me that this is your case. 4. We always respond and return all calls in timely manner. 5. I went thru our phone records and I could not locate any calls that came from you on Dec 4th,2015 . Normally if you have an appointment between 8-9 and no one shows, it make sense to me to call the company and find out what is going on instead of sitting and waiting when no one is showing up. 6.Your call was handled from Chris who was sick from Dec 3rd and returned to work on Dec 7th. It looks to me that he may not called you to re schedule the appointment and if you did not call the office there is no way how we can send another salesman over there the same day. I know how you felt and I'm really sorry about that. If there is anything that we can do to prove you wrong about your opinion for our company please let us know. I never had the opportunity to meet with you in person but I can assure you that I definitely took the time to investigate,measure and sign a proposal that will be guaranteeing you no seepage in the basement. Based on the measurements the price was $8090.00. As of today we can not offer you any other solutions for water coming up thru the floor (in the middle of the basement) besides interior drain tile with new pit and pump. This may look to you as my mind was mind up but that was definitely not the case. Besides that after I provided you with the estimate you never called or e-mailed us with any questions,concerns or alternative suggestions which you may have in mind. I really hope that if you hired someone already it will be someone who can guarantee their work for a long time. I will be more then happy to make another visit if you wish and review my proposal based on the facts which I had. Thank you!"

The service man was on time and extremely professional. He did a very thorough job and was willing to answer any questions I had. While he was working, he pointed out other cracks in our foundation that we hadn't noticed. He made honest recommendations about what our house needed without trying to persuade us to contract more work.

The crew was hardworking and professional. We have had only two heavy rains so I can't really judge the effectiveness of the work but so far everything has been dry. I will update my comments next Spring if anything changes.

In order to see where water comes from the drywall has to be removed. If it turns out that it is a stone foundation we have to pit, sump pump and drain tile with vapor barrier. They are calling for heavy rains this Tuesday and I was planning to stop by and take a look. Please call me so we can discuss any further action. Stoyan"

The rep was on time. He looked a the crack plus other parts of my home, not only in the basement but also outside. He gave advice on avoiding additional water damage. He was thorough and honest. I would do business with them in the future but for now I think their a bit too expensive for me at this time.

They once provided an estimate for the installation of a membrane around my brick foundation that was seeing mild seepage. It was later determined that installing a membrane would be an unwise investment given the very mild nature of the seepage we were experiencing. We also learned from multiple people, including people from the city, that a membrane was unlikely to address our problem.
I messaged back in May to obtain an estimate for the inspection and perhaps replacement/repair of two drain tiles. I did not receive a reply until late July, with the author of the message explaining that there was a change of management, and subsequently they lacked access to their messages, etc. The tone was cordial, but this second experience coupled with what I perceived to be some dishonesty during our first interaction, makes me hesitant to contract with them.

"Hi Removed mbr info, Thank you for your review on angie's list but I strongly disagree with a lot of your comments. First of all after we provide you with an estimate on 4/24/2014 for your ongoing seepage we never heard back from. We never were contacted by you for whatever reason or requesting another estimate for drain tile replacement. January 2015 company has changed management and until everything was up and running you never made a call to us. The only thing that you did was a message on 5/31/2015 on Angie's list that we responded to it on 7/21/2015 with apologies about the delay because of the ongoing transition. You physically never made an attempt to contact us(via website,fax,phone call or text message) beside one message on Angie's list(that was responded with delay). Everything that was propose to you we still think that it is the best way to go and we are highly interested who recommended something different. At the time of the inspection you were notify by the sales person(Stoyan Yanakiev) that an interior drain tile is an option but not the best way of handling the issue because water will be still infiltrating thru the brick causing effervescent to appear on the surface. That's why you were given an estimate for exterior repair. In that case there is no difference how excessive the damage is -if you want to stop it the only way is an exterior repair(membrane application) what was proposed to you. We will be more then happy to make another visit and discuss all of your concerns again but in order to do it you need to call us and set up an appointment. It is rare to find someone who is genuinely concerned about the consumer rather than the paycheck; Chris with ULB is one of those individuals. Chris, an owner, was thorough, thoughtful, and considerate with his evaluation of our property.
He explained our options and advised us to take certain actions before continuing with the waterproofing solutions we thought we needed (whether we decided to go with him or someone else). The insights he provided will take a few weekends to implement, but will probably end up saving us thousands of dollars in the long run.

He was on-site for less than ten minutes, which was the time it took to diagnose the problem, and determine that his services were not required. He was polite, punctual and knowledgeable. Although he did not perform the services we'd hired him for, he conducted himself in a friendly and professional manner.

The foundation of our house is 100+ years old and made of large stone blocks. As such, it has developed some cracks to the point that with heavy rains, we were getting consistent seepage into our basement. With this type of a foundation, only external waterproofing is an option. ULB-Dry came an gave a quote that while a substantial amount of money, was a good value given the amount of work involved. In particular, the excavation was difficult as it is in a gangway between our house and the neighbors, preventing any mechanical digging. The entire excavation was done manually, with the dirt and sediment carried out by hand to a trailer parked in the street. The ground was not easy to dig, as it was all clay soil. Stoyan and the ULB-Dry team put in a LOT of work to get the foundation dug out (60 liner feet and 2-3 feet deep and wide). This work alone was worth the money. They then did all the waterproofing work (patching cracks, sealing, membrane, drain tile, etc.). They were also able to accommodate a last-minute request to install foam core insulation. The drain tile was routed to an existing sump pump. However, it was discovered that the pit was not deep enough to accommodate the pitch of the pipe. Stoyan and team dug out the pit to the required depth and made all the connections - a lot of additional and unexpected work. After everything was completed, they manually carried back all the dirt and soil to backfill the excavated area.
We have now had the new drain tile and waterproofing in place for 2 months, and have had some fair amounts of rain during this time. Most recently, 2-3 inches of rain fell overnight and flooded the alley behind our garage. However, we have not had any water or seepage in the basement. Had ULB-Dry not done the waterproofing, this would not have been the case. All the work and cost was worth it for the peace of mind we now have.
We have now had the new drain tile and waterproofing in place for 2 months, and have had some fair amounts of rain during this time. Stoyan returned my call the Friday I had left a message and came to check out my problem on Monday morning. He worked with a hose for over an hour to determine the cause of the seepage I was having in a difficult-to-get-to place in the basement - paneling covered the wall and heavy bookcases were built on the wall that divided this office space from the utility area. A crack that was visible from the exterior had been diagnosed as the culprit by another estimator (turns out that was at the other end of the office and had been corrected from the interior several years ago). After much hosing and checking walls on both side of the divider, it was determined that the water was running in from the window well via a plexiglass-covered window, down behind the paneling, and running under that wall where the floor sloped toward the sump pump and, farther on, the drain. He recommended replacing and sealing the window well as well as removing any debris and checking the draining into the existing tile, covering that area with stone and affixing a cover that we did not have. I also decided to have the other 3 basement window wells cleaned and checked and stone added along with covers for those windows. Stoyan called later that day to say that the materials were available and scheduled the installation for 2 days later - they arrived promptly and worked all morning, first having to remove a bush that was blocking their progress (that had been anticipated) and very professionally did their work and cleaned up nicely.
How glad I was to get this second opinion and not had structural repairs made and paid for that I did not need!
