He came out to pave our 3500 sq foot drive way. He came out initially and did the work in September 2001. He only used 2 guys and it only took one day for a project when other companies would have supplied at least 7 or 8 guys. After the first winter we had a few pop outs and after the 2nd and 3 year we had a lot of pop outs and cracks. The color had also started changing. He also didn't put in any expansion joints by the house, which caused multiple cracks all over the driveway. We hired our first lawyer in 2003 because he would not respond to our needs or resolve the problem. He said if we had a professional check it, we would find that it was not his problem nor his fault. We had a concrete consultant come out to determine the problem and how many pop outs and cracks we had in the driveway. He came back with the answer that the concrete was overworked and had too much water in it, that's why we ended up with so many pop outs and cracks. We had our first big rain since the job and the water flowed down the driveway right into our back door. The pitch was all wrong. It was flooding right through the door. We now have to manually put in 2x6 out on the patio to create a diversion of water away from the door. We even bought an awning to keep the water on the other side of the boards to prevent it from coming up into the house. We had to install a new drainage system at the end of driveway to try to avoid this problem. After the terrible job with the driveway including the pop outs, cracks and the pitch, he wanted us to pay another $4000 dollars to try to fix only the holes. He wouldn't anything about the color or the pitch. We had a lot of plumbing expenses because of this problem. Now he is saying that he told us previously that we needed a drainage system and we didn't want it because we said it was too expensive. However, he never gave us that suggestions and when you look at the disposition, it shows that he never even gave us a quote for that work. Obviously, he did a really bad job. We asked for our money back, and he laughed at us. Because of his manner, we are on our third lawyer and he has really insulted us and our lawyers. He just figured that 2 senior citizens who own the home -including myself- just wouldn't do anything about it. We are still taking him to court to try to resolve this issue. In 2001 the original price $26,000 and now the replace it will be around $45,000 because he wouldn't solve the problem in the beginning. Anyone I can save from this guy, I would like to save them.
