Extremely professional service

Fantastic! All right that is not the usual kind of thing you say about a sewer problem but Gulliford Septic Service was so wonderful it was a good experience. I found Gulliford through Angie's List because we had had bad luck with local plumbers in the past. Our first contact was with the customer service representative, Beth, who was extremely pleasant and helpful. She indicated she had to check with one of the technicians first as we were not sure exactly what the problem was and promised to call back within an hour - and she did! We then scheduled the service. The technician, Jonathan, called before coming and was on time and extremely pleasant. He explained what the problem looked to be and then began working. The blockage was not clearing so he had to go through several different tips with no luck. He then asked us if we would want him to use the camera as there would be an additional charge; we approved. Jonathan even let us watch the screen to see how the camera progressed, or in our case, did not progress. We were unable to determine where our sewer line went to so he called the City of Urbana and the city crew came out to discuss. It was determined not to be a city problem so Jonathan did a little more investigating and found the likely linkage for our property. He then went back to the office and got another technician along with the trailer jetter. It took 4-6 times with the jetter to clear the problem. Jonathan had us run cold water through house tubs and flush the toilets to be sure it all ran clear; he also ran water from the hose down the sewer line and that also ran clear. He and his co-worker went over the problem with us and gave advice on how to avoid potential problems. I cannot praise the service we received enough! We heartily recommend Gulliford Septic Service!

Our sewer began to back up into our basement sink on a Sunday (our canary in a coal mine) and luckily we caught it before it got too bad. Called Gulleford first thing on Monday morning and they were able to fit us in that day. Since our sewer cleanout is in our basement, we needed to pay for two plumbers and the use of the auger machine (because of all of the stairs); they told us that upfront. The estimated costs ended up being exactly what we were charged.
The plumbers were both very courteous, professional, and great at explaining. They ran the auger two or three times with increasingly sized bits and extracted a mass of tree roots from our sewer line. Our sewer has been running fine since; I will definitely call them again if (when) this happens again. I was very pleased.

The office person was very pleasant and accurate in estimation of time, cost, etc.
They were out extremely quickly and took care of the mess. Inspected the system and allayed our fears of the need of tank replacement or major repairs. Replaced collar and lid. Everything was explained thoroughly before and after. It was wonderful to do business with him.

When I called in they worked with me to schedule an appointment at the earliest time.  On the day, Jonathon gave me a call 1/2 an hour prior to his arrival.  He was able to locate the tank with out any issues.  He noted that the system looked excellent and I should keep up the maintenance I have been following in the past.  He was very pleasant and helpful in answering any questions I had.  I would definitely call them in the future.

The inspection went very well to the point they told me that it was not justified to pump out the tanks.

He started out thinking it might be necessary to remove the toilet and redo a bunch of stuff. As he worked through it, he was able to figure out a couple of other things. It turned out to be much simpler and worked fine at the end. It was not a very expensive job. He was very careful about doing an inexpensive job when it was possible.
