Andy Van Meter

Every time we have Andy come over he does a fantastic job.  He is so knowledgeable about how things should be done and is quick, courteous and efficient.  He always has the correct equipment and because he is so knowledgeable he is able to make recommendations.  This hasn't happened but just as an example, if he was fixing our bathroom cabinet and realized our toilet was leaking he would be able to fix both the cabinet and the toilet instead of him fixing one and then us having to call a plumber out to fix the other.  He has also recommended people for us to use and we have used about 3 of his recommendations (such as a painter).  Everyone you talk to about Andy has a great respect for him and they are all as professional as he is.  They all respect their specialties and respect his overall knowledge.  I have heard them say Andy called and I said I'll be right over to help.  Andy has been recruited for many jobs including airline retrofitting which involved more designer skills and has worked off and on for a Kitchen and Bath company.  Since he is so flexible and knowledgeable he is able to be his own boss and schedule his own time and appointments without needing a big company.  He always cleans up after himself and this is the part I love best about him-he is a perfectionist (in a good way).  When I was in a condo the upstairs unit leaked and the person they sent to fix it said he would just "mix up some paint" that would match.  Well, I said forget it and asked Andy to come over and fix it and paint it.  Andy wouldn't never mixed up some paint from leftovers he had but instead used paint that matched what was originaly painted.  He wouldn't put something up half-heartedly and treats everything like he would his own house. If you order a cabinet he will go by and check it at the shop to make sure it isn't dinged up or anything before hand so the start date isn't delayed.  Can't recommend him enough, he is such a professional and good worker. 
On a personal note I never put  an amount on my reviews because I feel like every job is different and I respect the people enough to know how to bid each job.  Needless to say he is worth every penny and I feel is in the right range of pricing.
