It did not start off well. First of all the boxes needed to be removed from a second floor garage loft, which they were well aware of. There first comment was "the boxes are all on the second floor?". Then they asked me to move a ladder which was on the landing of the stairs but has been there since we built the house. It has never been in the way to anyone else before. So I had to disassemble and move the ladder by myself (I am 62 and disabled), finally at the end when they found I was struggling they helped me down the final stairs. Of course no one helped me move it back. Then they didn't remove the boxes after they shredded the paperwork inside. So when my wife came home to help, they started throwing boxes and lids at my wife when they completed the shredding, instead of setting them down so she could match up lids with boxes. They not only threw boxes and lids all over our garage floor but also tossed lids in various spots of our garage loft. We also received a comment from one employee that missed one of the steps coming down the stairs and commented that he "hoped we had insurance", my wife joked and said "no we don't". Then his next comment was "he would sure like to own part of our house". Another problem was the truck used to shred these boxes was badly leaking oil in our driveway, which I have since cleaned up. And finally the main issue, is we paid for the shredding on site, we were asked to pay $605.00 at the time. Later that morning we received the actual invoice for $330.00. So we overpaid for the job. Invoice#100081542 was $330.00, Invoice#100081574 was $605.00. According to the owner $660.00 is what we were quoted. We were told the price would vary based on the "bins". Still questioning the $275.00 difference in price. In any case the quality of some of their workers was terrible. Apparently customer service isn't enforced with their job because they sure left a bad impression on us.

"(member name removed) never arranged for our service. We only spoke to (member name removed). I had a nice conversation with (member name removed) and she accepted our pricing, which included carrying boxes down from a loft above the garage. We are an on-site shredding company so, for recycling purposes, we cannot mix documents and corrugated or the material cannot be recycled. (member name removed) understood and accepted that we would not be shredding or removing the corrugated boxes that held her documents. (member name removed) scheduled the service and accepted our pricing. (member name removed) directed my customer service professionals (drivers) to shred their documents. They shredded what they were told to shred and the (member name removed) were there to direct the process the entire time. We only shredded what we were told to shred and the (member name removed) signed off on the work order job and paid the drivers in full for the service. Due to an internal invoicing problem, we accidently over billed them with a second invoice due to the fact that we sent two separate shredding trucks to them. I called (member name removed) and told her to disregard the second, smaller invoice, and told her that everything was paid in full. She thanked me and the conversation ended there. Now (member name removed), who I have never spoken to, claims that we somehow overcharged, didn’t take the boxes and didn’t shred everything when that was pre-arranged and OK’d by (member name removed). She signed off on accepting the completed service and paid what was due. We only shred what we are told to shred and only leave after we get a signature accepting the amount and service. I am very proud of our service and reputation that we’ve built over ten years, here at Proshred. I am dismayed on being cast in a negative light by a person that never has even spoken to me, before or after the completed service."

It had been quite a while since my wife and I reviewed the documents we'd accumulated over the years.  Many bills, pieces of correspondence, and business documents were clogging up our files.  After reviewing what we no longer needed, I wanted a way to dispose of the documents in a responsible and secure manner.

I used Proshred and was very happy with the service.  They have walk-up hours on certain Saturdays, which is what I made use of.  When I arrived, the staff member on duty greeted me and explained the process.  It was as simple as backing my car up to their door and loading the documents into garbage bins.  The bins were wheeled to a scale where everything was weighed.  Each bin then was loaded onto a shredding truck that raised the bin and dumped the contents into the shredder.  I watched the material get shredded via a camera system that's in the truck so I know that my information was destroyed securely.

Their fee is based on the weight of material shredded.  To keep the math simple they adjusted the weight down to a round number, which worked in my favor for a few dollars savings.

Bottom line: Proshred made things easy and provided great service for a good price.

I checked their web page and found that I needed to call to make sure the shredding truck was at the facility. A very pleasant woman answer the phone and told me to come anytime that day. They were open until 5. We drove over. The owner explained how it worked, brought out a large garbage can to dump the documents in, took us and them inside and weighed them, and recorded the weight. The garbage can was then taken to the truck, a camera was turned on so we could watch the papers going in and being shredded. We then went to get another load and went through the same process. The shreds are mixed with other peoples shred and then recycled. The owner is very pleasant and personable. We would not hesitate to make use of their services again.

It went smooth, quick, and easy. They weigh by the pound so the prices are very reasonable and you get to see your documents shredded on the spot. The truck they used for the shredding went pretty quick. They also were able to destroy my old computer harddrive. They were very professional and courteous. I would go again. Just make sure you call on that day to make sure the truck is there at the company.

Great - answered every call - One Saturday per month they have a drop-off service. You drive up, dump your papers in a wheeled cart and it is weighed [with you present if you choose to be] - cart is this put into the cart-lift on the shredder truck and lifted into the shredder mechanism.
At no point were records visible to the operator/owner. You then watch as the documents are shredded on a small flat screen mounted along side the controls of the truck.
I did not have to separate, folders, paper clips, small binder clips, or metal-two prong closures. They do not shred the boxes themselves or 3 ring binders.
Company also performs media shredding as well. However, it was not available on that day. Rodney, the owner was professional and friendly. You are provided a receipt as well as a certificate of destruction. I would imagine their other services where they come to your company/premise for on-going document destruction management or other frequency is going to be as professional as well.

Phoned ahead to be sure shredding was available that day. Upon arrival I received a friendly greeting and the service and price were reviewed. I accepted and we immediately unloaded the papers from my vehicle to a rolling bin similar to those used for trash. My material was weighed and then immediately loaded into the shredder while I watched. The papers were shredded to confetti again while i watched. Upon completion, I paid the bill and departed. There was no waiting and all was accomplished in 15 - 20 minutes. Travel of 45 minutes from my home to their site from my home was the only negative. They would have come to my home for the shredding but at a cost of an additional $50. Would recommend their service and would use them again.

They shredded a few boxes of home documents that I had tossed into their oversize trash receptacle outside my third floor apartment.
Their truck mechanically dumped this receptacle into a hopper and shredded it, mixing it in with other people's stuff to make it harder for anyone to and quot;piece togetherand quot; anything after the shreds are dumped.
They have a smallish black and white video screen on the side of the truck that allows you to see your papers being dumped into the shredding hopper within the truck but I would have preferred to see a glass window to really know that what I am seeing is my stuff. However, I believe it was very likely my stuff.
The guy was professional and very courteous and also was good about letting me know exactly when he'd be real close to my apartment so that I could time when I'd go outside with my banker's boxes of papers to be shredded. They will come inside your home and wheel the trash receptacles outside to their truck, but since I live on the third floor it was easier for me to bring my boxes outside to them.
I'd recommend these guys.

The guys called an hour before coming to my house, and it only took them 20 minutes to take care of the job. They have a video feed that I was allowed to watch. Fascinating! Even though it was a hot, humid day, they were both gentlemen, very polite. I would use ProShred again.

They were excellent. Their price was comparable to everyone else. We had to cancel at the last minute because we had an accountant coming in and they were able to just accommodate our needs. They were able to cancel that date and set us up right away with another date. They were very easy to work with. They were very good on price. They were very good and I was very impressed with them.
