CARLIN-MORAN LANDSCAPING

Carlin-Moran Landscaping originally did a good job. They were prompt, it was a one-day job. They tore out the concrete porch because it had settled and made a brick porch and a sidewalk. A couple of years later some of the bricks in the steps were coming loose, they fixed it fine. One of the selling points was, well, if you get it done in brick, you don't necessarily have to take a hammer to it. You can repair using the same bricks. Fast forward to 2012 and more of the stair bricks are coming out. The porch itself is settling. I called them out, which took a while. They said, Oh yeah, this isn't right, we probably need to redo it. He said I don't know if I can totally cover all costs but I'll give you an estimate to basically make the whole thing right. I expected that. He said, It's off, it didn't work out the way it should have. Next week came, no estimate. Call after call after call, no estimate and mostly got voicemail. When I did get hold of him, Yeah, yeah, I've been busy. No estimate. I even went online where it says 'Click here to receive an estimate.' So I e-mailed, still no answer. I'm messing around with this for a couple of months. From June. So I finally said call me today or I'm going to give Angie's List a report. He has never called me back. Probably, this year, I'm going to have to have somebody else in to look at it. We actually got some cement and glued the stair bricks back in because I didn't want the mail people - or myself - tripping on my stairs because it is dangerous. So, at this point, I don't know if they are still around. I don't know what his status is. When I first worked with them, they had a woman working in the office. So when you called a number, you got the office. Lately that number goes to Bill Moran's cellphone. The fact that there is no one in the office any more tells me that even though he says he's busy, where is he busy? I kept trying to work with him. Please call me back. What do I need to do get you to call me back. I'm asking you for an estimate. I understand that I am demanding a free job. What was originally a great experience is going bad. I've never panned anybody and I'm unhappy to have to do it. It is lack of professionalism and I don't know what is happening with these people, this guy. He has totally lost his way, at least with this job. I would tell other Angie's List members beware. Between 2005 and 2007 they were responsive. By the time 2012 came along he finally did come out and had a look at my grille and he remembered the job. We talked and it was friendly. It would be more economical to have him do it and we split the costs than have someone else do it. It would be nice if the job lasted more than 7 years but things happen. So he said he would make it right but then it stopped. So I don't know if he is still doing new jobs. I have no idea since the guy stopped returning my calls and didn't answer my e-mails.
