Terrible. 1/2 quoted price for materials upfront, I paid. 6 months later still not done. I was told today arrival would be between 10:00 and 10:30am. At 1:22pm I was text back telling me I would get my deposit back tomorrow night because of wrong materials and lack of an employee. Very poor communication and I am extremely dissapointed

Have not had work done yet, but I've used him in several projects now and they are always EXCELLENT.   I highly suggest Douglas Exteriors if you have rental properties and need someone reputable in the Dekalb/Sycamore area.  EXCELLENT work, professionalism,  and well known in the area.

We received several estimates for replacing the siding on our home. Douglas Exteriors had, by far, the lowest bid. We had received a recommendation from a friend who had them replace some windows for them and he was pleased with the work that was done. Based on that recommendation and the low price, we decided to give them a chance. They started the job right away and told us it should take about two weeks. They were up-front about other jobs they needed to finish and the hours they would work. They were respectful of our yard and that we have dogs and children - always cleaning up after themselves at the end of each day. They finished the job on time and the quality of his work was excellent.

What a nice and easy way to get a home repair job done! Called Douglas Exteriors to ask for an estimate on getting a piece of siding that had started to come loose on my house repaired. He said he would come out in about :30 for an estimate. Within an hour, he was here... gave me an estimate... repaired the siding... took payment... and was on his way. I wish all home improvement projects went this smoothly!

The workmanship was superior! I can't say enough about how perfect the floor looks --Everything is even, there are no uneven gaps between the wood pieces...It is simply beautiful. They took the time to do everything right. They properly cleaned, leveled and prepared the cement, then used the right underlayment--so the floor is perfectly flat. It should be in a magazine!
I had the chance to see the work in progress, before the molding and thresholds were put in place and the cuts were so even and so close to the walls that I joked that it almost didn't need any further finishing-the workmanship was THAT GOOD!
I would HIGHLY recommend them. I will ALWAYS go to Douglas Exteriors for my home improvement needs--I know it will be DONE RIGHT!

They were a local company. They are sort of a smaller business than another company. They have one other helper to work. The guy I dealt with was a very pleasant and honest man too. He was honest about the kind of siding. We got an insulated type of siding. That's why we went with another company. The other places offered it, but the man from Douglas Exteriors told me that the company from where he got the siding had a couple of problems. So, they had to make repairs. I liked that he was being honest about telling me that and I wouldn't have known about it otherwise. I checked out the other companies too and decided to go with some other company.

We asked for bids to replace the siding and windows on our 30+ year old home. Of the two bids, Douglas Exteriors was the best. This company had also replaced windows and built a deck for my sister's home and she highly recommended them. Doug and his crew arrived when they said they would, did an excellent job, and cleaned up after themselves each day. Our home looks better today than it did the day we bought it thanks to Doug and Brennan's good work. A robin pair had nested on a garage window air conditioner and Doug was willing to change his work pattern to allow the babies time to leave the nest. If we had questions Doug was always willing to listen and provide explanations and suggestions. We just couldn't be more pleased with the new look of our home and plan to ask Douglas Exteriors back to do other building jobs.
