From the very start in the process, both Frank and Lisa were genuine and straightforward. They were highly communicative in all aspects of the job, and from the moment Frank and his team showed up to begin the work, they were warm, accommodating, and highly professional. Too often, when having work done on my house, I wonder if I am being taken advantage of or manipulated into doing work that may not be necessary. Working with Frank and Lisa was the exact opposite. They earned my trust each step of the way, and the quality of the work is excellent. I would give them 10 stars if the site allowed for it.

Frank did an awesome job repairing the many holes and cracks in the chimney.  He matched the new brick to the 38 year old existing brick so well nobody can notice it even close up.

Frank showed us the different log sets and we choose a beautiful birch set.  After receiving the special order he promptly came out and installed it.  It looks and works great!

We are renovating our 37 year-old home and as part of that wanted to get our fireplace and chimney cleaned and inspected.  We choose Soots N Ladders because we have used them in the past and love their service, pricing, and people.

As always, Soots N Ladders rocked it out.  They were on time and had the chimney sweep down to a science.  They are always very OCD about keeping everything clean that surrounds the fireplace, and this time was no different.  A full inspection of the chimney resulted in several pretty big issues in the brick and mortar, and he showed us photos of all the damage so it was more detailed than what we could see from the ground.  He will be emailing us a quote on what needs to be fixed/repaced shortly.

Also, there was no vent cover at all, so he installed one for us. He also went over the cost and process of doing a wood-burning to gas-log conversion.  We are using Soots N Ladders for that job, as well. 

The estimate was delivered about 3 days after I requested it. I was given the choice of replacing the entire brick section of my chimney above the roof or just replacing the damaged section. I called to accept the bid for the lesser repair, and was given a window of 4 days (they had to do that because of unpredictability of weather) within which the work was to be completed. The owner called early on day 3 to tell me they were on their way over. Once here, the owner suggested using dark brown mortar to somewhat mask the contrast between old and new brick sections, which is what I chose. I also asked about installing a stainless steel cap cover or covering the cap with mastic to prevent a similar failure. He pointed out that the mastic can actually trap water and cause damage after several years, and recommended against it. He also placed a metal plate under the cap, which will prevent water from destroying the brick section in case the cap ever does crack. He could have made a quick sale by selling and installing the stainless cover, but told me to save my money because it would be of limited value. If only all tradesmen and contractors were this honest. The chimney looks really good (the dark mortar really did help), the workers cleaned up their mess really well and the concrete forms used on the new crown were removed about a week later, as promised. I would not hesitate to hire this company again or recommend it to anybody.

INITIAL PHONE CALL REQUESTING SERVICE WAS RETURNED PROMPTLY, AND APPOINTMENT WAS SET UP FOR FOLLOWING WEEK. TECHNICIAN ARRIVED ON TIME; HE WAS NEAT AND POLITE. HE PLACED DROP CLOTHS IN FRONT OF THE FIREPLACE FOR CLEANING. HE WORKED FROM INSIDE AND ON A LADDER AT THE TOP OF THE CHIMNEY OUTSIDE. HE REPORTED ON THE CONDITION OF THE FIREPLACE AND CHIMNEY. WE'VE USED THIS COMPANY FOR CHIMNEY SWEEPING AND MASONRY REPAIR/REBUILDING OF OUR CHIMNEY IN THE PAST, AND HAVE ALWAYS BEEN VERY SATISFIED WITH THEIR SERVICE.

EXCELLENT. THEIR PRICE WAS WITHIN THE RANGE OF BIDS I RECEIVED; THEY STAYED WITH THE JOB UNTIL IT WAS FINISHED AND DID A GOOD JOB. NO COMPLAINTS.

THEY CAME PROMPTLY, WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL. KEPT AREA CLEAN AND LEFT WITH NO MESS. THEY GAVE INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO USE GAS FIREPLACE REPAIRED AND EXPLAINED PROBLEM WITH DAMPER. PRICE WAS EXTREMELY REASONABLE COMPARED WITH A $300+ QUOTE FROM ANOTHER COMPANY WHO WANTED TO TEAR OUT THE WHOLE FIREPLACE TO REPLACE THE DAMPER AND FLUE.

I WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THE WORK. I FELT REALLY COMFORTABLE LIKE I KNEW THEM. I HAD TO LEAVE WITH MY HOUSE OPEN AND I FELT COMFORTABLE WITH THAT. VERY NICE PEOPLE.

FRANK SEEMED A LITTLE INEXPERIENCED WHEN I HIRED HIM, BUT ONE CAN NEVER GET THE EXPERIENCE IF SOMEONE DOESN'T GIVE THEM A CHANCE. SO I GAVE HIM A CHANCE, HE WORKED HARD, MADE A FEW MISTAKES AND ULTIMATELY FINISHED AS PROMISED. HE WAS PROFESSIONAL, COURTEOUS AND INTENT ON DOING A GOOD JOB. I WOULD HIRE HIM AGAIN.

THEY ALWAYS COME OUT ON THE DAY WHEN THEY SAY THEY WILL, AND EVEN CALL IF THEY ARE NOT GOING TO BE THERE WHEN PROMISED (IF THEY HAVE TO COME INTO THE HOUSE). THE OFFICE CALLS TO REMIND US ABOUT GUTTER CLEANING AND GET US ON THE SCHEDULE. I'VE ALWAYS BEEN PLEASED WITH THEIR SERVICE.
