Animal Rescues/Shelters
I have adopted many guinea pigs from this organization over the last 9 years or so. I was looking to adopt a pig from a rescue and my vet suggested that I contact the Critter Corral. I made an appointment with a foster care giver that lived in my area, and chose a wonderful pig that he had in his care. After a discussion about proper care and feeding of guinea pigs, we were both satisfied that I knew what to do to keep Louis the Pig happy and healthy. I signed a contract stating that I would take good care of my little pig, and paid a $25.00 adoption fee. .
The people who run this rescue are very knowledgeable about the care and well being of guinea pigs, and are more than happy to give diet and housing tips to anyone who has a guinea pig related question. Their website also has helpful links to informative sites covering a variety of pig related subjects. They also have social events where guinea pig aficionados get together and socialize.
Their pigs are welcome as well, which is really a good time!
Rose and everyone else involved with this rescue have my respect and admiration for all the work that they do. These people love guinea pigs as much as I do!
