Our 30 years of environmental engineering skills have been proven with a successful track record of remediating more homes and business than our competition. We eliminate the problem areas and then address the symptoms. We are licesned by the State of Illinois in a largely unlicsened industry where our competition should be ashamed of themselves for the unscientific advice and approach they take many times. Their prices were good, and the quality of work was excellent. They were responsive and punctual.

This company was very unprofessional. Rather than save the carpet and discard the pad, they wanted to discard both the carpet and the pad. The insurance company said that they could not discard the carpet so they tried to suck up the water. They tried to suck up the water in the basement with shop vacs rather than a large truck-mounted vac. They did a very poor job and overcharged. They poured the dirty water down our sump pump rather than down our drain. One of the employees tried pouring it down our septic. The entire crew seemed poorly trained. We had to have another company come in to clean up the mess. Our insurance adjuster and insurance agent both think this company overcharged.
Response from Stabilize, Inc.

"The Insurance Company did not authorize us to do the work according to national standards. The client only authorized us to do the work pursuant to the insurance company's instructions. Together they would only authorize us to extract the water from the carpet despite us trying to contact them repeatedly. The insurance company continued telling the client they were sending out their representative that afternoon. Several days later the insurance company still had not shown up to the client's home or even contacted them. No further discussion from the client or the insurance company has been received after educating the insurance company regarding their actions which were detrimental to the client's wishes. The insurance company eventually paid to have the work done correctly the second time according to the national standards as we originally proposed to do the first time. That is why there are national standards to be followed to protect both the professional doing the work as well as the client. The invoice to the client specifically stated that all work was done in accordance with the insurance company instructions. We apologized to the client when we left saying that we had done all that we could do based upon the limitations of the parties involved. Regardless of anything done by anyone, not removing the carpet after it has been flooded for several days was going to result in unsatisfactory results. Again that is why the national standards were developed. We sympathized with the client and explained the situation to them repeatedly but it was an unfortunate occurrence based upon city wide flooding and the lack of insurance company training that ultimately caused this event to take place. We have had no further contact with the insurance company after explaining how they took control of the project and prevented us from properly doing our job to begin with. We are an accredited member of the Better Business Bureau with an excellent rating. We are licensed by the State of Illinois and are properly trained for the work we do. We have never had any other problem with any other client regarding water removal from a basement. Stabilize has even done work for one the same insurance company’s sales people in their home in another City and they complimented us highly on our work performed. In fact we have done work for a half a dozen of the same insurance company insured policy holders since this incident occurred without any problem and the same insurance company has not questioned any other work done or proposed."
