"After reviewing the member's work order, he did not pay his claimed $662 for brake rotors. He had other work done, in addtition to the brake work, that brought the total on his work order to $661.96. Per his request, he asked us to rotate and balance his tires, as well as diagnose the pulsation he felt when braking. It was found that the brake rotors were warped, front and rear, causing his complaint. Due to the worn condition of the brake rotors, they did need to be replaced, which her approved per the price quoted to him. It was recommended that he also replace the brake pads at this time, which he declined, so his old brake pads were re-installed on his new rotors. Also per his request (in regards to the rotation and balancing of his tires) that the wheel weights be placed on the insides of his wheels- which is common pratice for those who choose to have a 'clean' look to their wheels. In his complaint of "my truck rims were scratched up", its commonly known that when you remove wheel weights from a wheel, it leaves a mark where the weight used to be. There were no indications from our technician, nor did the customer advise us, that his rims were in fact scratched, before or after the service was done. We still haven't seen the vehicle since this service was done to verify his complaints. At Midtown Tire, we pride ourselves on doing quality work at a fair price. And as always, the customer is always informed of exact pricing before any work is done- we can't proceed with any work until the customer authorizes it (Per Illinois law!). We also make every effort to reconcile issues when it comes to reports of damage to customer vehicles, should we be at fault. If the member didn't agree with out pricing, he shouldn't have authorized it to be done. And if in fact we did scratch his wheels, we will never know, we haven't seen the vehicle since this service was done."
