We purchased washer and dryer and first dryer broke took a month to get fixed and now washer broke in October 2022 and we are still being told part is on back order and treated badly and have yet to be connected or called back by the manager and they only offer partial store credit so in turn force us to go without a washer for now 6 months or buy again from them which I would never do again with the way they handled things….Many other reviews on various sites are very similar so do your research….

It has been a horrible experience from the start. I went in to purchase appliances for my kitchen based on their ad for 2 years, same as cash. I signed all the appropriate paperwork for financing and was told that as long as I took delivery of 1 of the appliances right away, the paperwork would be filed and everything would be taken care of. I took delivery of the refrigerator. They charged $500.00 for an extended warranty. I arranged for delivery of the other appliances to be delivered a couple of months later. A date was set and I asked if delivery could be made after 4:30 since that is the time I am off work. They said they could not deliver that late and could not give me an exact time of delivery. This meant I would have to take a vacation day to get my appliances. The refrigerator was delivered with a broken wheel which does not allow for leveling so the appliance does not fit into the space allowed. This should have been fixed when the other appliances were delivered. The day of the scheduled delivery, they called and said delivery would be made between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM. I don't know why I was told they couldn't deliver after 4:30. But at 6:45, they had still not shown up and I did not receive any contact from them. It turns out they did not turn in my paperwork for financing and I have had over a year of harassment from them asking for payment for a damaged refrigerator. They have turned this over to a collection agency. I have filed a consumer fraud case against them with the State Attorney General's office and am still being harassed by their collection agency. I will not pay for a damaged refrigerator or an extended warranty when it is apparently not worth the paper it is written on. And 2 years, same as cash does not mean turning it over to collection less than 1 year later.

I don't remember the price, but I didn't care. I just wanted something with the capacity to do the job. They actually unboxed the item, so I can confirm that's what I wanted.

11/21/16: Went to Dick VanDyke and was greeted at the door by Dave a salesman. I told Dave I was looking for a top loader but read they did not have much water. He told me he had the machine for me. Most ladies ask for a machine with more water. He showed me the Whirlpool Cabrio 4.8 cu.ft. washing machine with a deep water option. I bought it. $690.98. He asked if I would like to have the old one hauled off for $20. I told him no because it still works and I can sell it. He said the old one would be left in our garage. 12/3/16: The washing machine was delivered and set up. It doesn't work it has very little water and the clothes come out dirty. My old washing machine was not left in the garage. It was gone. 12/5/16: Went to Dick VanDyke explained the machine does not fill with water. Salesman told me I could not return it and called the sales dept. Spoke with Breanne who told me I had to have 5 different mechanical failures with the machine before I could return it. There was nothing they could do about the old machine. It was gone. 12/8/16: Repairman came today. He ran the machine and said it does not work. He said he has this machine and it should be adding more water. He is ordering a new motherboard for it. They still won't let me return it. 12/16/16: Have not heard from Dick VanDyke. Had to call them. We were told the machine is a new model so the part had not been released but they do expect it to arrive in 2-4 business days. 12/21/16: Have not heard from Dick VanDyke again. Called them and the part was in. Service scheduled for 12/23. 12/23/16: The serviceman came and opened up the part and it was the wrong part. He apologized and stated he would overnight the correct part. 1/4/17: Hearing nothing from Dick VanDyke we called them. They said they had the part and would be there the next day to fix the machine. 1/5/17: Repairman put the new part on the machine. I was not home my son was. When I washed clothes on 1/7/17 there was no change. The deep water button did not work. I had 2 1/2 inches of water in a 4.8 cu.ft. machine when I washed my nursing scrubs. 1/11/17: I stopped by Dick VanDyke and spoke with Mike in person. I told him I was upset. I have a brand new machine that does not work and the machine I had the did work is gone. He again told me there was nothing they could do about my old machine. He told me he would contact the service manager and call me back that day. 1/17/17: Have not heard back from Dick VanDyke. Called them today and they said they would have someone out tomorrow. The would call by 9:30 and tell me what time. 1/18/17: Dick VanDyke called at noon and said it would be between 2:00 and 5:00. I told the repairman it was only adding 2 1/2 inches of water for my scrubs and my towels are wet but they are 6 inches about the water level. I told him my clothes are getting holes in them from rubbing together without water. The repairman called whirlpool to ask how to check for error codes and they told him. He was coughing a lot and asked if I had a cat. I told him yes. He then said you machine is working fine there were no error codes. The deep water button is not going to add more water. I told him my clothes are getting holes in them and he told me to use the delicate cycle. He did not ever run the machine. He said I could return the machine for a 20% restocking fee.

Say you have your washer machine broke down and it won't drain.  They say they might get somewhere there next week.  They don't answer, and you have a hard time getting ahold of them.

Provider came for service call promptly (within 2 days of call).  Service tech said machine needed new control board which would be ordered.  We paid for service call and would pay for part when installed.  Part came within a few days (great!).  Service tech returned to install part - didn't even try to install it.  He said he 'compared' them and it would not fit!  We asked what we could do and he said just advertise it for sale for parts!  We went online, found the same part number on the invoice, ordered it, installed it ourselves and it works fine!  We called to talk to 'manager' to see how this could happen, talked to customer service and they would give a note to vice president, but no one ever called us back.

This was the 3rd time we have called them to fix what appeared to be the same problem ... although they said that there were different causes and we had to pay to replace different parts.  My mother had also called them over the same problem in the past. Our first service call was on 1/14/13 when they replaced a bad ADC (adaptive defrost control) and charged 196.03.  This is on top of the initial service call charge of 50.00.
We called them back out on 1/29/13 because the refrigerator was leaking.  They found a clogged defrost drain and fixed that without charging us.
We called them back on 5/6/13 because it stopped cooling again.  This time they said it was the evaporator fan and was going to cost 225.00.  At this point we paid the 50.00 service charge and decided to use another refrigerator we have in the garage for a while.  I was hoping to find someone else for the repair work.  We finally called them back and had them do the repairs 2/20/14.  I found out at that time that they would not honor the original quote because of the time lapse in between. So we had to pay the 50.00 service visit to have them diagnose the same problem and then the 225.00 on top of that.  The refrigerator is still up and running on 6/5/14.
I understand that it could have actually been various things going out on the refrigerator, however I am skeptical considering the amount of times we had to call them over the same problem.  I honestly half expected the refrigerator to start doing the same thing after the last repairs.  If we have any more problems, I will be finding someone else to do the repairs.  However I feel like I should give them a "C" because I do not know for sure that it wasn't actually different parts going out and causing the same problem.

I need a new front seal on an Amana dish washer.  They ordered it, called when it came in and came out and installed it.  Then after checking to make sure everything was running correctly he suggested I switch dish washing brands and explained why.  I did and have had excellent performance from the dish washer since.

The salesman, Dave,  was responsive, knowledgable, and friendly. Very low pressure, which is always a plus in a salesman. Arrived in-store ready to buy a particular brand and was given enough information to take a couple of days to research.  Wound up buying a completely different brand I'd not seriously considered and am extremely happy with my decision.
The installer called 15 minutes before arrival and as he was pulling up, the store called to let me know I'd be having a morning delivery. I'd certainly call that service!  Installer inspected the location for installation, removed the old appliances to the garage for storage, and had the new machines up and running perfectly in about an hour. The installer was friendly, efficient and did not wreck the floors or walls moving the old front-loaders.
All in all I am very happy with all aspects of this purchase and will definitely use VDV for future buys.

I purchased this Dishwasher from Dick Van D*** in July of 2007. The problem occured in August of 2012 so I was told it was out of warranty. The repairman showed up and reset the dishwasher by turning off the circuit breaker. The error code disappeared and he said that fixed it and left. The first time I tried to use the dishwasher, the error code reappeared. I called them back. The repairman said he'd have to order a part. It took them over week to get the needed control board in and took them another several days to reschedule a visit. The repairman installed the part, started the dishwasher and left. The new board registered an error code before the trial run was finished. I called them back. The repairman said there was an "Unknown Service Bulletin" issued concerning the control board and that the control touch panel had to be replaced at the same time the board was. He had not done this, so he'd have to order another panel and a touch board, and the additional part would cost an additional 150.00. It would be another week to get the new parts in.
It is now almost a month since my original call and my dishwasher is still not working.
Communication from Dick Van D*** is horrible. I would ask that they call me concerning what time the repairman would be out and they said they would only know the day of the repair. On all visits, the actual repairman called to tell me he'd be over before the office called to tell me what time to expect him.
I have no confidence in an appliance repair center that is unaware of service bulletins from the manufacturer on PRODUCT LINES THEY SELL.
I rated them a "C" on price because I called the manufacturer to get the price on the parts the repairman ordered and the charge for parts was only inflated 10%-15%.
I rated them a "C" on professionalism because when the repairman actually worked on my machine he was pleasant and neat in his work.

They did a pretty good job.  They had to do that twice during the life of the dryer.  They are professional.  They are on time.  They are reasonably priced.  My husband dealt with them and he had very good things to say about them.

I have heard MANY radio commercials for DVD from supposed "satisfied customers", as well as their claim to make a $15 service call.  When I called, I was told that the service call was $25 as long as I paid with cash or check.  It would be more if I used a debit/credit card.  When the tech arrived, he very quickly concluded that the issue was a bad compressor.  He indicated that it would be about $600 to fix.  Well, this wasn't exactly chump change to me, so I let him know that I would need to think about it and would call back with a decision.  He completed the paperwork, took my check and was gone within a few minutes of walking in the door.  After he left, I realized that the form he completed simply stated that I paid $25 for the fee.   During my research, I discovered that the fridge was only 7 years old and cost about $1800 brand new.  This was the point that I decided it would make more sense to call DVD back to schedule the repair than to buy a new fridge.  When I called, I was told that the $25 fee was not going to be credited toward the overall bill because some time had passed since they first came out (about 3 weeks).  I let the lady on the phone know that I was not told that I had a certain time to make my decision.  I explained to her that I felt like the tech should have explained to me that if I declined service at that time, I would not get the $25 credited to the work at a later date.  Remember, this is what they do everyday; I have little knowledge of practices like this, as it is rare that I need to have repairs done in my home.  When I explained to her that I was not satisfied with the lack of communication regarding their practices, she apologized, but seemed unfazed.  I guess I was expecting that she would at least TRY to make things right.  Bottom line, for what turned out to be $25, they lost $600 and a potential long-term customer.  (Not to mention the other potential customers I may be able to steer away from them in the future).   Hope it was worth it DVD!

UPDATE:  Had the work done by another company.  DVD mis-diagnosed the problem, which might have cost me MUCH more money.  The other company repaired a broken fan and the total bill was less than $175!
