Internet Service
We moved into our house the previous day, and the tech came out hooked us up, and then left us with a DIY kit (we didn't have the computer unpacked yet). The tech was punctual and professional. It was about $100 for a new account and hookup. On Saturday, we hooked everything up and the internet still was not working, so we called Comcast's customer service. The customer service people were very professional, calm, and you could tell they wanted to help and genuinely cared about fixing our problem. It turned out there had been a miscommunication and, instead of opening up a new account for us, someone at Comcast had attached our names to the previous homeowner's account, which had been closed six months earlier. There was some confusion over whether this was a new account or a reinstatement, but customer service (we weren't calling during normal business hours so we called the 800 number) did their best to sort things out. Once the account issue was taken care of, everything worked.
So far, I have been happy with the internet service and speed. It has been a little wonky at times (for a few days it would cut in and out when we were watching Netflix through our wireless network). The speed is decent...good enough for Roku, Hulu, and Netflix. The price is decent for the first six months of our subscription ($30/month), and even after that, the price is not bad ($60/month). I don't think I would be willing to pay more than that, though. We just have internet service, 12Mbps download speed, cable modem, with a wireless router.
