I cannot recommend Allied Plumbing and Heating for plumbing work. I hired them to replace my water heater. Prior to installation, the technician took measurements of the closet. During installation, the technicians informed me the drain pan would not fit in the closet and advised the water heater be installed without a drain pan (flood hazard). I decided to suggest installing the water heater on my old, cracked drain pan instead. After installation, I found electrical tape wrapped around one of the pipes and it was dripping water on the floor (See photos). Alliee sent an after-hours technician to investigate the leak. The after-hours technician mentioned that the technician who performed the installation "must have known about the leak or else why would he have wrapped electrical tape around the pipe." The after-hours technician found that the pipe was not connected all the way. Three days later, I received an invoice in the mail 41% higher than the estimate I was initially provided. I tried sending two emails describing the issues with this service but did not receive responses to either of the emails.

I contacted Allied Plumbing and Heating two clear the sewage blockage and get my furnace back online since it was still quite cold from late winter. they sent someone out 4 days later, and he stated that they could order the electrical board for the furnace and could come out and clear the plumbing issue. their quote on the water heater was over $2,000 which I thought was exceptionally overpriced. I asked them to go ahead and order the circuit board for the furnace and clear the blockage in the sewer and the servicemen left. After 4 days I called and they said that they had no work order. I contacted another heating and cooling company. I will probably not do business with Allied again since they did the same thing with my brother and his home.

The service man was prompt, professional, knowledgeable, and focused on completing the task in a timely manner. He explained what broke with the old pump and what had to be replaced. He provided all costs upfront, the time it would take to change out the pumps. He cleaned up afterwards and checked the backup pump to ensure it was working properly before leaving. I have been using Allied for 11 years. I have had them out to my house for sump pumps, kitchen and bathroom sinks and faucets. I cannot remember the price of the pump nor the invoice.

I am a landlord who lives in another town so I am at a disadvantage.  The tenant said the toilet was 'rocking' back and forth.  I have had Allied Plumbing and Heating fix things before at this residence, so I called them.

Apparently, the plumber did find that the toilet was not properly installed.  There was a gap between the drainage of the toilet and the floor.  I was lucky no leaks occurred.

The plumber did properly fix the gap and things have been working OK.  The job was in Dec 2015 and it is Feb 2016.

I really like this company - I just think they are expensive.  But - for the town of Springfield - I guess that price is common.

Failed to notice something wrong that a later hvac repairman replaced. Failed to return for a diagnostic on a function in the crawl that was passed over the first day because he didn't want to get dirty. Second HVAC guy came out and correctly identified one problem, but after a billing mistake I was double charged. After several weeks of calling they worked it out, apologized, and stopped billing me.

When you call, they come and they have good workers.  Their price is reasonable.  It is usually 1-2 days at the most when they're able come able.

We had called them out a couple of weeks previously, with a hot wire smell coming up out of the registers. That repair man could find nothing wrong at that time. It decided to work correctly while he was checking it out. Then a couple of weeks later when it was zero out, I woke with the hot wire small again, and it was cold in the house The man came out within an hour.and had it fixed in 20 min. It needed a copasitor on the blower moter No charge!! We had paid $89. for the first service call and he said that would cover it.

Workman arrived at the correct time. The work took all of 15 minutes. He charged me 1/2 of a service call.

They came out on 10/31/12 and gave an estimate for the work we wanted done. The estimate for an extended gas line for our dryer was not bad at all, maybe around $200.00. They said that parts of our gas line were outdated and needed to be replaced, and they gave us an estimate of around $400.00 for BOTH updating the gas line AND extending it to allow us to use a gas dryer.

We scheduled the work, and made arrangements for someone to be home that day. When the technician arrived, he looked around at the work that needed to be done, and informed me that it was impossible for one person to do the work. He would need to come back with another technician, and would have to reschedule.

On the day we were to have the work completed (again), the technician explained to me that the previous estimate was incorrect, and that because our gas line ran over our basement ceiling, that we would need to use flexible gas line and it would cost over $1000.00!

We ended up just having them change the water valves, and decided to get an electric dryer. I was disappointed that they couldn't give me an accurate estimate of the cost of the work, or the number of people needed to do the work. We took time off work and spent a lot of money at the laundromat that was wasted.

My family members and I had used this company exclusively for several years and loved them, but they don't seem to have it together anymore. My most recent experience leads me to believe this company is either incompetent, or trying to trick customers into paying higher prices. Either way, I'm going to find a new service provider.

The plumber, installed our shower knob in reverse, hot was cold, cold was hot. They can and fixed it, but stripped the screw and now the knob falls off. They also did not install the pipes in the correct location in the basement so the dryer vent installation had to work around the water pipes and is all twisted, which is a fire hazard.

A gas leak was discovered just as we were to begin to have a bathroom put in in our basement. They were at the house with 2 hours and had not 1, but 2 leaks repaired within 2.5 hours.
