Wonderful they were gentle and caring. The staff was very accommodating too even offering to do my fillings the same day I was there for my cleaning so I didn't have to take off work another day it was great!

The dentist is Advanced Dental Care Of Springfield. What stands out is that they are super, super friendly. They are excellent with people like me that hate going to the dentist. The biggest thing that stuck out to me is that they also do cosmetic dentistry. I had some cosmetic dentistry done years ago and I wanted somebody that I could work with and they have been a lot of help with that. We have been using them frequently. The staff friendliness is an ‘A’ for sure and I would give more if I can. I definitely will use them again in the future.

Dr, VanderMolen and his staff were wonderful. They were very professional and caring. I was extremely nervous about the whole process, but they explained it very thoroughly and were able to schedule the necessay appointments to fit my schedule. I would highly recommend this team for dental services.

They're expensive. They wanted to do all kinds of dental work. It sounded good but he just got cleaning. It was supposed to be a special for a certain price. We ended up paying more. The insurance did take care of it. They sent it in to the insurance and the insurance paid more than what the actual. I called my insurance to say they're overpaid. They didn't want to contact Advanced Dental to get the money back. As far as I'm concerned, Advanced Dental got more money than they should have. It's a new place.

My family and I were patients there from 2004 to 2011. Most of the regular visits found needs for treatment (i.e. cavities, need to refill cavities, need a crown, etc.), even when we were having no problems. All of the treatments were very expensive and we did not have a dental insurance plan. All of the expenses were out of our pocket. My family had wanted to change dentists but I always wanted to give the benefit of the doubt. On my last visit, I was told that I needed 2 crowns for a cost of $2200. I was having no problems at all. I went to another dentist, recommended by several friends, for a second opinion. He said that the crowns really were not necessary at that time, but I might need them sometime in the future. Our family all left Advanced Dental Care in November of 2011. To date, I have not done anything about those 2 crowns they said I needed and still have had NO problems!! They are friendly and nice, but we feel that there were quite a few times we had expensive treatments that were not necessary at the time.

We are not sure why after 2 years you felt you needed to post a negative review. At any rate, you mentioned that we recommended 2 crowns and you indicated that you felt you did not need the treatment because "it was not bothering you". It is important to note that dental decay often does NOT hurt until it is too late to SAVE the tooth. We focus on PREVENTATIVE care at our practice. Dental decay will never get better on its own---it only gets worse, and the treatment is more costly if ignored. You gave the impression that we were somehow diagnosing your treatment without sufficient evidence. Some dentists have the approach that "we will watch this and wait" but as I said, we do not want a small problem to turn into a more costly and uncomfortable one, so we let patients know the truth about their condition. I was very impressed with the staff , he was very professional. I was not pleased when I asked the office staff about the price of the dentures, they gave me a price . The one thing that made me very confident and impressed with the dentist is when he stated you will find someone who can do it cheaper & faster but you will not find anyone who will do it better. That really impressed me. When I went in for my consultation , it was considerably higher than what the staff had quoted me. Apparently the office staff had given me the price of the dentures only, not everything i.e. pulling of the teeth and all that goes with getting dentures. It really upset me due to when I asked what is it going to cost me they know I don't have dentures already. They were aware that I needed to get the teeth pulled . After calling around to other dental offices to compare prices , apparently all of them only quote the price of the dentures initally. This is apparently a dentist office quote due to all of them did the same thing, only quoting the price of the dentures and this is very misleading. I expected someone to say this is the price of the dentures , the extractions, etc. I was almost in tears when they told me the total price. The dentist was very professional, confident not cocky.

I called to schedule an appointment and was even given late in the day after 6 pm options to see the dentist and cleaning specialist. I was able to fill out paperwork on-line prior to my appointment. I arrived at my appointment and only waited a couple of minutes before being taken back for xrays, then a cleaning and then consult with the dentist. The entire visit was friendly, efficient and I received good feedback on next steps.

I must say that my experiences at Advanced Dental Care of Springfield have been absolutely the most stress-free and painless visits to a dentist or any other medical professional I've ever known. They really make sure you know what's going on, both before any work begins, during your time in the chair, and while patiently explaining the financial aspects of the process. I was absolutely terrified of seeing the dentist, and as a result of how long it had been since I'd been to any dentist the list of work necessary was dauntingly long and not inexpensive. Despite this and my fear of dentists in general the efforts of Dr. Schlee and the staff at Advanced Dental to make me feel comfortable, knowledgeable, and "in control," were so effective that I made my first appointment and have made several more since and have not once experienced anything but relaxation and ease in their care. I've had some particularly "intense" procedures performed at Advanced Dental which will take perhaps many months to complete and yet my fear of the dentist, as a direct result of my experiences with the medically competent, friendly, and encouraging staff at this office, has virtually disappeared. It is no exaggeration to say that being able to visit the dentist again has already and will continue to make a dramatic improvement in my qualify of life - and I don't know if I would have been able to without the superb first impression and initial care I received and continue to receive at Advanced Dental.

In the 4 months everything went great. The worst part of the process was getting the braces on, that first week when your mouth is adjusting does hurt, just like with any braces, I just made sure to wear the wax as much as possible that first week. But after that things were easy. I went in for my apointments once a week, then once every two, each time they would make little changes to the wire and then finally they came off, 5 days before my wedding. I got molds done for my retainers and things have been great so far! My pictures for my wedding turned out beautifully! One month later I went back in for a check up and things were going great. They asked me if I had any questions or concerns and explained things to me. They said if I had more concerns later before my next 6 month cleaning and check up to just call and they would fit me in asap!

Over the next four years I have been able to get to know the office and dental staff, and am always greeted with a warm welcome during my entire visit.
I have had many procedures done since 2008, fillings, crowns, x-rays, cleanings, and throughout it all, I like the fact that staff fully explain procedures to me and are constantly putting the patients comfort first.
I have never had the best smile and would really have to trust a dentist to perform cosmetic dentistry. I always knew cosmetic dentistry was available but I figured I could never afford it, but during a cleaning visit in Aug 2011, I mentioned that I would really like to find out more about the cost of veneers or something to improve my smile. Dr. Vandermolen suggested Fast Braces and provided me with information about the procedure, including an approximate 1 year treatment period, and in-office financing.
I thought about for a day, then I decided at this point, that Dr. Vandermolen has been the best I have ever worked with and agreed to let him perform the Fast Braces procedure. I wore Fast Braces for 10 months and my smile went from bad to awesome. I get compliments about how nice of a smile I have from people that didn?t even know I ever wore Fast Braces. I still cant believe Dr. Vandermolen and his staff were able to get such great results with me. I just didn?t think it was possible, but they proved me wrong!
I highly rec. Fast Braces to anyone who thinks they might could benefit. The results are amazing and financing had been a huge help. I even paid off my balance in a short time.
I have been to many dentists in the Chicago area, and I can honestly say Dr. Vandermolen and his team represent 5 star dentistry.

Previously, I had radiation for cancer along my neck and tonsil area. At that time I had an upper denture and my own lower teeth, which had to be extracted prior to the radiation. After the radiation, I received a lower denture and a new upper denture. Over the last few years, my gums and bone had deteriorated due to the radiation, and my dentures were not fitting properly nor were they looking so good. In fact, I refused to smile and was very self-conscious. I decided there must be something that could be done to make me look better. I researched the internet and came across Dr. VanderMolen. There was a very interesting story about him and his dentistry experience that really impressed me so I decided to make an appointment. My first appointment went really well. I felt comfortable explaining how I felt about my dentures and Dr. VanderMolen was very understanding. He said he could make new dentures for me that would make me smile again. And he did! It was the best decision I ever made. Now I smile a lot!

The front desk receptionists are very nice people. The technician that takes you back is very friendly and will talk with you about what is going to happen. She walks you through everything. Then, I had a young lady come in and numb my mouth. She tells you everything she is doing and what to expect. Dr. Driskill came in once the numbness took effect, which didn't take long. She is always very kind and will sit and tell you what she's going to be doing. She does the procedures with such care and such professionalism. I highly recommend her. The billing folks will sit down with you and explain the charges and what your insurance will pay and what you will be expected to pay. These dentists are about the only ones who will accept state employees dental insurance without making you pay for the procedure up front. They wait for the insurance to pay. All you have to pay basically is the one time copay.

I needed to have the filling done because it was hurting, and he has evening hours on Monday and Tuesday. Also, Kristen, one of the hygienists, did an amazing job with the anesthesia. It didn't hurt at all. Each chair has massagers and televisions, and they provide blankets if you get cold. This place is fantastic, and I no longer dread going to the dentist.
