"We are very sorry you will be getting this response late. We have been working with Angie's to receive emails immediately after a customer takes time to compliment or complain! You have taken the time to express such nice things about our company. At minimum we like to respond. So please know we appreciate the compliments and value the time you took to relay that. We are very pleased that you feel as confident and pleased with our company as stated. From A Better Plumber to you, we are hoping you see our thanks!"
"Ms. [Member Name Removed], There are no words to describe how your review makes us feel. I could start with happy, grateful and thankful to name a few. However, proud seems to stand out for us right now. We certainly strive for all our Customers to feel the way you do! It truly is our goal with every service call. The fact that you put your experience with such a description is evident that our mission is being fulfilled. Our entire team wants to thank you for taking your time to write such an elegant review! We share these reviews with our team so they know they are truly making a difference. Thank you!"

"Ms. [Member Name Removed], we truely appologize for the scheduling conflicts. We had an unfortunate series of events causing our schedule to be impacted. Most of which was the overwhelming amount of emergency service calls . The weather generally dictates this. Most of these customers had flooding basements or a situation that was an immediate emergency. You are no less important to us than any of our other customers. If given the opportunity we would like to prove ourselves to you. We agree that you were rescheduled and we know your time is valuable. We really would like the opportunity to redeem ourselves. We want to be your provider of choice. We would like the opportunity to satisfy you as a customer. Please let us know how we can do this. We appologize for the inconvenience the conflicting schedule has caused. Please let us prove ourselves and except our deepest appologize. Thank you Loretta Topp"
manner despite being far from home, and I am sure hungry!
It wasn't my water heater after all (thankfully) and he noticed a drain hole blocked. Brought in the machine to clean it out and they were off to even another job. We received a 1 year warranty and even used a coupon. I would use them again if I ever need them. Calling a plumber is usually stressful, but Rich made it comfortable. Thanks again for the great customer service!
"We are very sorry for your experience with our company. It is our mission to provide excellent service to all our customers. It is frustrating to hear you are not happy. It is our goal to make any and all interactions with our company a pleasant one. We have taken your concerns very serious to improve our quality of service. Please note that this not an acceptable practice of our company. In fact, we believe that this was in a time period where an answering service was being used. After a few similar complaints were made, we discontinued their services. We are very sorry for the delay in this rebuttal ! This was a clear oversight on our behalf. We are extremely apologetic for your experience and hope you will consider our company in the future. Thank you, Management"
It went terribly! I have asked repeatedly over the past month for a refund of my $3,000 deposit, minus $165.00 which their workmen charged for removing the wall paneling from the basement. We do not dispute that charge, but want the balance of the $3,000 refunded. Rich, the owner, will not respond to my calls. I have hesitated to give a very bad review here because I am aware he has some personal problems, but due to my husband's Parkinson's disease, I also have personal problems I'm dealing with. I would definitely NOT recommend A Better Plumber and Sewer Company, Inc., based on my very unpleasant experience.
"Rich, owner of A Better Plumber & Sewer Co., Inc. is aware of (Removed Member Name) bad feeling about our company. Unfortunately due to a misunderstanding with her credit card company, her deposit was on a credit card that was cancelled due to her credit card company and she was given a completely different card & number. The refund was not that simple. It took time to talk to the Village personal to figure out who would be getting refund and how much for permits already paid and pulled by A Better Plumber. A Better Plumber refunded her in full amount her refund on a personal check from the company. Although we are waiting for total refund from the Village. (Removed Member Name) approved & cancelled job several times. We told her we had to wait for Village approval before doing any work. And as a result we did have her deposit before we were going to start job, unfortunately again she cancelled and approved work several times. As we a are licensed, bonded, and insured company. It is very unfortunate that (Removed Member Name) feels bad about the way this was handled but it was not our fault that her credit card again was cancelled and can't refund money back to a cancelled card. I wish only the best for her situation and her husband."
Then, on June 4, I had to call them again as I had a faulty gate valve on the inside pipe to my outside hose. The appt. was set up for June 5, again I had to request that they arrive before 11:00 due to my work schedule. Unfortunately, the job they were on before mine had complications which delayed them getting to my house, and both the company and Jordan/Brad called me to advise me of such, so we rescheduled for Monday, June 9 as this was not an emergency situation. Again, Jordan and Brad came out and Jordan assessed that the old valve's threads were stripped and I would require a new valve. He removed the old valve and soldered a new ball valve on. There was a gap between the outside concrete wall and where the spigot is supposed to be flush up against the wall, and the pipe was very wiggly, so Jordan adjusted the pipe to close that gap and anchor the pipe better. There was still a little gap after he was finished, so he grabbed some sealant and filled it in, which I appreciated to prevent insects or tiny critters from getting into my house. Then, since they were already here, I had Jordan check my toilet, which had been dripping water into the bowl for several months. It just needed a new flapper, which Jordan made sure was installed correctly and he tested it several times before deciding it was good to go. I am extremely pleased with the service that I have received from this company and their employees, especially Loretta, Lisa, and Jordan and his assistant Brad. I appreciate their calling to advise of the delays and Jordan was very helpful answering my questions and informing me as he performed the procedures.
The cost above is for both jobs, broken down: Hot water heater 40 gal. gas-- $1050.00 with 6yr warranty ,1yr on the pipes; and : Valve, soldering, toilet flapper replacement-- $240.00 1yr warranty on pipe work, 90 day warranty on flapper.
All in all, I give them an A+ and highly recommend them. I know I will not hesitate to call them again for any plumbing problems that come up, especially if they send Jordan.
