I have a contract so they come to service the air conditioning and the heat. They come twice a year. I have a special contract where everything is replaced free if they find something wrong. They installed it a number of years ago. They come and really clean. They spent about an hour cleaning everything doing the inside and outside. I always ask them how certain things are doing and they always tell me. They are always willing to answer any questions I have or tell me what to watch for. They are just very good.
arrive at my house to look over some duct work I wanted to complete. I
was also interested in Aerosole to be sprayed into the ductwork.
Pat arrived was punctual. He studied the ductwork and drew a
sketch. I explained I wanted two additional vents added to the first
floor. I a humidifier I wanted attached to the furnace. I wanted the
remaining ductwork in the basement to be closed. I wanted the ducts to be
cleaned. I wanted his company to provide Areosole to be sprayed in to the
ductwork. I asked for a quote. He gave
me an approximate verbal dollar amount. He assured me he would send me a
quote by the end of the week prior to his taking a vacation the following week.
I did not get the quote. I sent Pat a text the week he
was to be back from vacation asking for the quote. I did not receive a
response. I called Pat a week and half after the sent text and spoke with him
directly. He assured me he would send the quote out by the end of the
week. I never received a quote.
If he was too busy to do the work perhaps a referral to a different
company would have been the professional thing to do. But why waste my
time and his if he was not interested?
I have since contracted with another company to have both the
ductwork added, cleaned, closed and Aerosole sprayed.

When the technician arrived, he was courteous, knowledgeable, and efficient. The job was well done and my Air Conditioning is working once again. He did not try to upsell any other services or expand the scope of what was needed. That was appreciated.
Beforehand, I checked prices for the blower motor on the internet and found their parts prices to be comparable. I also asked whether they would honor a competitor's Angie's List coupon and after some persistence, they finally agreed to accept it.

We called Elgin Sheet Metal and someone came over within minutes. We spent some time discussing our options with a salesman and the work was scheduled for the next morning.
The workers arrived very early and it took all day to remove our old, huge, and heavy furnace, but by late afternoon we had a new furnace up and running.
A new air conditioner was also purchased and installed but since it was fall, they didn't prepare it for use.
On the first hot day -- which came very early this year -- Elgin Sheet Metal called us. They were out prepping air conditioners and wanted to take care of ours. We were delighted. They came and started it up and everything works fine.
