SWITCH ELECTRIC, INC.

I did not hire, and I have no business relationship with the provider. I do not have any information about the cost of the job they are doing.  This company was hired by the management of the building I live in.  I was directly affected by the poor service provided by the provider though, and that is why I submit this review
       I rent an apartment in an apartment building at the intersection of Rascher&Rockwell in Chicago. The building is all rental apartments. Recently the  management decided to do some electrical work in the building. The company doing the job is SWITCH ELECTRIC, INC. They needed access into the apartments, so the management gave a reasonable 2 day notice to the tenants. They did some drilling in the walls, made some dust, cleaned some of it, left the rest for me to clean. They did not bother to cover/protect from dust any of the furniture or items in the apartment. It costs 24$ to buy "9 ft. x 400 ft. Cling Cover Plastic Sheeting" from Home Depot, of which you use 1/4  to protect the items around the area where you work. That is 6 $ and maybe 5 minutes of the ELECTRICAL PROFESSIONAL's time to save me 3-4 hours of cleaning/washing/vacuuming everything in my living room.
       On friday  01/29/16 I went to my basement storage unit to grab something. I noticed that the door to my storage unit was forced and removed. Just above my unit I saw the recent electrical work that was done : several electrical pipes coming out of the concrete ceiling through holes that were recently drilled. The floor and everything in my storage unit was covered by a THICK LAYER of CONCRETE DUST. Absolutely NO RESPECT for other people's personal items. Again, with 1 $ worth of plastic, in 1 minute everything in that storage could have been protected from the dust. I just finished cleaning my apartment, still have to go and clean all the stuff in my basement storage,  and really feel annoyed because I have to spend my saturday being the cleaning crew for SWITCH ELECTRIC,INC.
   
  
     
     

My neighbor was having a generator put in so I talked to them and they gave me a price. They were quick and efficient. They stand behind their work. I've never seen an electric company wire a panel so quickly. They started at 7 in the morning and by 1 pm they were done. They put it in and piped the gas line to it. They hooked the electrical box into the breaker box and rewired  and tested it and they were out by 2 pm. After the last storm, all the power in the neighborhood went out. Ten seconds later we had power. After the power is restored, the generator goes out after it tests the line. It is very cool and gives us piece of mind. If I call them, they are there within a couple of hours. They are good.  I just got a quote from them to put in some flood lights outside.
