From my initial phone calls with the office staff to the completion of the work by the crew, everyone we dealt with at Steinhardt Builders was professional, courteous and knowledgeable.
We moved into our house about a year ago and knew from our home inspection that the insulation in the attic was inadequate. Living through one winter, we found the house was drafty and one bedroom in particular was especially cold. Steinhardt Builders is one of Com Ed's approved energy efficiency providers for the Com Ed / Nicor Gas rebates. We received two quotes from two approved providers but chose to hire Steinhardt based on their exceptional customer service and knowledgeable staff.
In summary, in our upper attic, they installed soffit baffles, an air barrier around the skylight and blew in insulation. In the crawlspace, they sprayed foam insulation on the rim joists and installed insulation panels on the crawlspace walls. They performed the door blower test before and after the work was done to quantify their work.
We couldn't be more pleased. It's only been a few days, but the house already feels left drafty and we've made adjustments to our thermostat that we know over the years will save us money.

"Hi [member name removed], I believe there has been a misunderstanding and you bought an assessment through Angie's List that you did not intend to buy. I am happy to refund the money. Please contact our office to confirm the address you would like the refund mailed to. 7735164766. Thanks, Sharona Steinhardt"
"Hi [Name removed], Thank you for your review. Generally our communication is quite good, I would be interested to know what the problems were, so I can make sure they do not happen again. Please feel free to email me at [email protected], or let me know if it would be ok to call you and discuss. Thank you, Sharona Steinhardt, president"
"Hi [member name removed], I apologize for this mishap, it was not deliberate. While its not an excuse, we traveled out of the country, as my 18 yr old brother has a terminal brain tumor, and his situation had worsened terribly. We will have your documents sent today, and are also aware of the fact that we might lose some business as a result of our trip. This is a family owned and operated business, which is why our customers receive the great service that we normally can provide. It was not a business choice to go visit my brother with my children, rather a personal one. I am sorry if we didn't meet your expectations. I wish you well, and will help provide any info you need in order for another contractor to perform the work for you- if that is what you wish. Take care, Sharona Steinhardt"
