S & S Bartlett

It took forever for the door to be made and when installed it was wrong.  First, the measurement didn't take account of the opening not being completely square.  This was fixed with a new base after much delay and many more unanswered emails and phone calls.  Then it was discovered that a new sweeper was required, which also took forever and many unanswered phone calls.  The sweeper was then installed wrong and the whole process had to be repeated.  Meantime, the new base was removed because it had been installed wrong, and when put back was not properly installed this time either - it was arched up and underneath tried to be filled with silicone instead of taping it down.  Then it became clear that the two sides were not equally plumb.  The guy who came to fix that moved the top screw and bent the side piece rather than move the two middle screws, because he felt that he should not have been sent to fix that until another new base had come in. And now we are still waiting, more than 6 months later and as usual can't get emails or phone calls answered.  Nobody should have to put up with this.

I read about Bartlett in a home remodeling magazine. After having two other companies come to my home and tell me that they could not install the trackless shower door that I desired, I visited Bartlett's downtown showroom. We set up an appointment. They assessed the situation and indicated that a trackless door was completely possible. After accepting their estimate, they installed both my shower door and my beveled vanity mirrors. The work was installed on time and to my satisfaction. I have had these shower doors for 2 years now and I am still very happy with the work done by Bartlett.

From start to finish, the company was easy to deal with. Barlett has a show room, so customers can easily compare and test the doors, rather than making a guess from a brochure. Rob, our contact person, was terrific, as he educated us about the various available options. By doing that, we could decide what seemed best for us. There were several phases--the estimate, the final measurement, and the installation. Each part was completed as scheduled, and the company was very accommodating when we had to delay the installation due to several unanticipated travel weeks. The installers were very careful bringing materials into our condo and worked without creating a mess. What surprised us was how quickly the work went: less than 2 hrs. Following the installation, we realized the knobs we'd selected weren't the right choice. Without complaint, Rob followed through on the change. We couldn't be happier with the whole experience.

Was a 3 step process of obtaining initial estimate, having exact measurements taken and installation. I felt their pricing was more than competitive and overall were friendly and did a good job. Only downside was the need to schedule extra appt. for measurement after having misplaced the paperwork, and having to reschedule the installation a couple of times due to overbooking.

After searching various home centers attempting to find a suitable shower door replacement, I went into Bartlett to see if they had a basic door. I found that they were very helpful and had a door that exactly met my needs. Plus they would take care of the installation. They came out to measure and the door was installed within a couple of weeks from my order. Overall a very positive experience.

WE CONDUCTED AN EXTENSIVE SEARCH FOR A SHOWER ENCLOSURE, INCLUDING THE POSSIBILITY OF ORDERING FROM THE INTERNET AND INSTALLING OURSELVES OR HIRING AN INSTALLER LOCALLY. WE WENT TO BARTLETT FIRST BECAUSE THEY HAD DONE ONE FOR US IN A PREVIOUS HOME, BUT HAD STICKER SHOCK AT THE FIRST ESTIMATE. WHEN WE LEARNED ENOUGH ABOUT WHAT WE NEEDED TO ASK THEM FOR ANOTHER, BETTER ESTIMATE, WE FOUND THE COST TO BE VERY COMPETITIVE WITH THE INTERNET ROUTE -- AND WATCHING THE INSTALLATION, WE NOW KNOW WE WOULD NEVER WANT TO TRY THIS OURSELVES. SALES REP, MEASURING SPECIALIST, AND INSTALLERS ALL CAME ON TIME. INSTALLATION WAS ABOUT A WEEK LATER THAN HOPED FOR AND A CUSTOM ORDER HANDLE TOOK A LONG TIME TO ARRIVE. WHEN HANDLE DID ARRIVE, IT TOOK TWO VISITS TO GET IT PROPERLY INSTALLED, BUT ON THE WHOLE WE CONSIDERED THESE ISSUES TO BE MINOR. AS IS TRUE WITH MOST HOME IMPROVEMENT VENDORS, YOU DO HAVE TO KEEP CALLING THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE SLOW TO RETURN CALLS.

THEY CAME OUT AND ESTIMATED AND INSTALLED A FLOOR TO CEILING GLASS PANEL AND DOOR. THEY CAME IN CHEAPER THEN EVERYONE AND I COULDN''T BE HAPPIER WITH THE WORK. EXCELLENT COMPANY.

BARTLETT DID AN EXCELLENT JOB ON OUR STEAM SHOWER. NOT ONLY WAS THEIR PRICE SIGNIFICANTLY LOWER THAN OTHER COMPANIES, THEIR CRAFTSMANSHIP WAS BEYOND OUR EXPECTATIONS. IF WE HAD A SIMILAR PROJECT IN THE FUTURE, WE WOULDN''T EVEN BOTHER TO GET QUOTES FROM ANY OTHER FIRMS -- WE WOULD JUST CONTACT BARTLETT.
