REMODELING BY THE TINMAN

I hired Rick and his team to update my kitchen - new flooring, quartz counter tops, sink, faucet, tile back-splash, and additional under-cabinet lighting. Because I didn't want to rip out my perfectly good, existing maple cabinets, I appreciated that Rick didn't try to up-sell me on more than I wanted done, but did ask helpful questions - like if I wanted to add more under-cabinet lighting than I had (I did!). He also was able to point me to suppliers who offered a contractor discount. The work went smoothly, and the team took care that I wasn't without a functional kitchen any longer than necessary. The quality of the work was excellent, and the crew was careful to clean up when the job was done. Because I use mobility devices to get around, I was particularly pleased that the crew took care to leave navigable paths as the work proceeded. Bottom line: I'm delighted with my refreshed kitchen!

The owner, Rick Reiner, is very knowledgeable and professional. He was on-site checking progress nearly every day. Whenever there were any questions, Rick was very responsive. We are extremely pleased with the workmanship of Rick's team, and the quality of the resulting MUCH improved bathroom. The only issue was that the remodel took quite a bit longer than expected, although I believe it was partly due to a miscommunication or misunderstanding by me. I would highly recommend Rick.

Wasn't sure who to contact or where to go as I was new to the area and also a first time home owner (also first time doing a remodel). I was able to find Rick on NARI, this provided a level of confidence to start with. He exceeded my expectations, the process went very smoothly and the quality of work was exceptional. I'm a bit of a perfectionist and he and his team set the bar very high. Communication was great throughout the process and he also came by regularly to do quality checks on the work being performed. I was also able to buy and supply all the materials, this set him apart from the competitors. I received an estimated project cost upfront for all of the labor and Rick was able to deliver without going over budget. I would definitely hire again for any future work.

The job was completed in 6 days to my satisfaction. Rick told me up front that he would not come in as the least expensive, but that the job would be done correctly and according to code the first time - and it was! His crew was punctual (with the exception of a miscommunication on one of the work days) and professional. They were knowledgeable about plumbing, electrical & design issues, were careful to keep any construction dust closed off in the bathroom with no disruption to the rest of my home, and worked within my condo board's rules. I am happy to recommend them and look forward to future projects.

Fantastic. It was a small space, which actually makes things harder, but Rick ( the Tinman) gave us suggestions for tile stores and ideas for how to do the remodel. He had his crew chief Peter come over and do all the work necessary. It is so much better in every way. I absolutely recommend Rick the Tinman.

Room is beautiful.

Every project was done professionally and within the timeframe projected. If anything had to be changed along the way, the Tinman talked to us about it first. The cleanup was always prompt and thorough.

Better than I could have imagined. Rick and his crew did an incredible job. From the initial quote to completion everything was done exactly as we wanted. I can't imagine a more honest contractor with more integrity. Rick visited our projects every day. He sincerely cared that we were pleased and understood the process along the way. His crew, especially his lead man Peter are all very talented and the work is top notch. They made sure to clean up at the end of each day. We are so happy with all of the work. Our home is the envy of our neighbors. Great company. I highly recommend Remodeling by the Tinman for any project.

I am so thrilled not to have to climb stairs repeatedly for each section of laundry! The floor in my kitchen was very old linoleum and finally replaced it with a beautiful light colored 'bamboo' looking flooring.. not wood which I do not like. Very easy to keep clean and looks great. My wooden door in my patio was smashed and the workers were able to salvage it and fix it saving me the expense of a new door.

Rick is very helpful and works very well with architects (if they are involved in your project). What I appreciate most about Rick and his company is that if there is any problem, question or concern before during or after the project, you get an immediate response and they take care of it. He does a good job keeping you informed throughout the process.

Went very well. Workers are very professional and responsive to us. Were very clean, cleaned up every evening. They did everything that they were asked to do in a timely manner. Rick was very easy to work with. Rick gave us a lot of input on the layout and suggested things which we had not thought of.

Overall we are very happy with the job. The quality of the work was mostly excellent, but we rated the quality as good because there were a few things towards the end that we weren't totally happy with. But at that point we were ready for the job to be done and they were relatively minor things. Our only real complaint was the length of time it took to complete the job. They started in late September and estimated three weeks for the work. It was not completed until the second week of December. We understand that contractors are juggling multiple projects and timing is not always in their control, but we would have liked it to be done faster.

Great to say the least! As I said, his whole crew was amazing and did very professional and quality workmanship throughout my whole house! I would highly recommend them for any job you have, from a full renovation/remodel to any smaller job.

I thought Remodeling by the Tinman did a terrifc job renovating my kitchen. Rick (the owner) is responsive, knowledgeable, and ethical. My kitchen reno involved hauling out old cabinets and appliances from a third floor walk up and then bringing in all the new stuff up three flights. Rick's team did all of that without complaint. They finished on time and within budget.

The ceramic tile work was particularly good--there was a dificult transition from the kitchen to the living room, and Rick's team made it come out perfectly so that the tile floors of the kitchen flow evenly into the hardwood floors of the living room.

This company is incredible. I had used them before to remodel my bath. They are prompt, professional, and very knowledgeable about all aspects of construction--electrical, plumbing, tile and cabinet installation. When they pulled up my old kitchen floor, they found a couple of old, old layers of wood flooring from years ago. Everything was very uneven, and it looked as though they might not be able to create a smooth transition between the kitchen and the dining room Nevertheless, everything came out perfectly! The whole remodel (which was a gut rehab) took three weeks start to finish. Unbelievable!

I have had a lot of work done to my home over the years. I only wish I had known about Remodeling by the Tinman for all the other jobs. Our job initially started as a cure to prevent water from leaking into the house from the ice dams. It was suggested we extend the eaves to help this. We then replaced the siding and added some new copper roofs over existing doorways. The project was completed in a timely and professional manner. This winter we had no ice daming or water damage. We then decide to have an old bathroom remodeled. It wasn't an extensive job, but that to went very well. So much so that we will be remodeling the other 2 baths in the house later this year. We we're extremely pleased with the entire process.

We are thrilled with the finished work. It took much longer than we expected, though. When the crew was at our house, they worked really hard and did a great job. However, days would go by without us seeing anyone. The final price was higher than the estimate, but not by much, and it was because the old plumbing was not up to code and we didn't know that until the floor was ripped out.
