On-going for next several months

Great! We tried everything to get rid of the fleas in our home! We brought in a stray puppy a few months prior and the next thing we know, we are infested! We had 3 cats at the time and they were eating them alive! We called Orkin, they immediately sent someone out and got the job done on 1 visit. The only downfall was that I signed a contract for 1 year thinking it would take multiple visits. Next time, I'll just pay the more expensive cost for 1 visit.
I'm amazed they killed them ALL so quickly. Literally, when I came back home 3 hours later - they were all dead! Thousands of them! Way to go Orkin!

I like that it's regularly scheduled. He's prompt and on time. He's in and out quickly. We did have a problem some years ago with ants, which they addressed and we haven't had any problems with it since.

Not sure. They started by insisting we weren't a rat neighborhood. Then they came by and said it was wildlife which they didn't do. The wildlife guy they sent said nope, it's rats. They then said they would bait. They would go during business hours. although I asked each time to get a call to see what they had done and gotten all the burrows I had seen. I never got a call. When I called the office I would be told they had baited and there was no new activity. Not sure how if there was no new activity there were always new burrows. And of course the manager john also told me he had never spoken to totally useless, unresponsive and ineffective

We have them yearly. They are good. The guy has good bedside manner we might say. He is very nice, we like him and as far as we can tell he does a good job.

Our agent Brian was wonderful. He was very friendly and timely. If I am home during the service, he will educate me.

I have a yearly contract with them. They come out about 4 times a year. As far as I know, everything is pet safe.

Overall, Orkin (at least the Skokie office, anyway) is not customer oriented. The applicator would  or could not explain what he was doing and why he was doing it. He really did not seem to have any knowledge of the poisons he was handling. I tried to call the office to get an explanation of what was being applied and how it dealt with my carpenter ant problem specifically. The people in the office, while not exactly rude, seemed annoyed that  a customer would have the gall to ask questions about what he was paying for. The applicator also had this lackadaisical attitude toward the visits. He seemed to have no interest in or connection to what he was doing. In other words, he just went through the motions. He never asked about or reviewed with us the progress of my specific problem with carpenter ants. Orkin didn't care whether their treatments were successful or not. The applicator just walked around the house with this spray can of insecticide. He had latex gloves on, but the insecticide dripped from the can as he walked around the house. Fortunately, I kept him from applying this poison (whatever it was) in the bedrooms. The applicator was supposed to call before a viisit to arrange a day and time, but he usually didn't. He just showed up, which was very annoying, because one of us had to stop work and escort the applicator around the house. On the last scheduled visit, the applicator applied a great deal of pesticide, so much that we had to open the windows for several days to clear the acrid, irritating smell out of the house. After our last scheduled service, we started to get bills for the service that we had already paid for (1 year previously). We recently received a bill for future service--after we had told Orkin to discontinue service. The nature of this bill was extremely deceptive because it implied that we had contracted for additional service (which we had not). This bill also implies that not responding to this bill essentially would be a contract to sign on to another year's worth of service. These practices of Orkin are unethical at the least, if not downright dishonest.
So, did Orkin get rid of our carpenter ant problem in our attic ductwork? Aside from the one time that the applicator placed a bit of bait at the edge of the duct register in the ceiling (at our insistence), Orkin did nothing to solve the problem that we contracted with them to address. They made no attempt to explain what they were doing. They might have been treating for scorpions as far as we knew. In the end, we got rid of the carpenter ants ourselves. We discovered that the ants were pulling in fiberglass insulation through a gap between the ductwork and the register in order to make a nest in the duct itself. We sealed up the gap with some caulk and then sprayed the ductwork with a little Raid (we don't recommend doing this for obvious reasons, and we wouldn't do it again). Then we inserted a vacuum wand up into the ductwork (about 4 feet). This allowed us to vacuum out virtually all of the ants, larvae, pupae, frass, and other debris from the nest. This worked. We haven't had a carpenter ant problem since (knock on wood). We, not Orkin, solved our problem.

If it doesn't work, they will always come back out and take care of the issue at no additional cost. They are not pushy and they do a great job.

We weren’t happy with the service and didn’t think it was helping. They weren’t getting the job done. We continued to have mice coming in. They didn’t seem to be able to stop that. They put down some traps, but it didn't help. We didn't have any personal problem with anyone; it just didn't work for us.

I have been using them for pest control service and am happy with them. They charge 80 dollars for a visit. They are professional and prompt. Whenever I have any kind of specific problem they take care of it like I had a problem of carpenter bee and they were able to identify and take care of it for me.

I feel that their prices have gone up too high to continue using them. They did a good job but I am a senior and had been using them for many years and they were not willing to work with me on the price. I felt comfortable having them in my home but would like to shop around.

They are reliable and came when I had an emergency. They did a very good job and I would use them again. They have been coming every other month for follow up. I no longer have carpenter ants in my home.

We have been using their services for 6 years now. We have never had any problems with them and they do a very thorough and professional job. They are very easy to work with. They are flexible with scheduling. They always call before they come and will call to let you know if their in a change in their schedule. We are very happy with their quality of service.

I am so happy to have a reliable company, like Orkin to take care of preventing these bugs from being in my house. I cannot stand bugs and they understand how important my expectations are of them. I would definitely refer them to other people.

THE TECHNICIAN ALWAYS CALLS AND LEAVES A MESSAGE AS TO WHEN HE WILL BE OUT FOR HIS VISIT AND IS FLEXIBLE IF I NEED TO CHANGE THAT TIME. THE COMPANY IS PROFESSIONAL, RELIABLE AND HAS SUCCESSFULLY ERADICATED OUR ANT INVASIONS.

THEY CAME AND DRILLED HOLES EVERY 16 INCHES AROUND THE HOUSE AND PUT IN BORIC ACID POWDER. AFTER THAT, THEY JUST CAME OUT WITH A CAN AND SPRITZ HERE AND THERE. IT HAS BEEN COMPLETELY INEFFECTIVE AT GETTING RID OF MY CARPENTER ANTS. I'VE STILL GOT THEM. I JUST CAME HOME FROM VACATION AND THE WHOLE BACK ROOM WAS FILLED WITH OVER 100 DEAD CARPENTER ANTS THAT HAD GOTTEN IN MY HOME AND DIED. I'VE HEARD THAT THEY MATE AND THEN DIE, SO THAT MEANS OVER 100 CARPENTER ANTS HAD MATED AND THEN CAME INTO MY HOUSE AND DIED. I HAVE BEEN USING ORKIN FOR 3 YEARS AND IM NOT GOING TO USE THEM ANYMORE. THEY ALSO MISS APPOINTMENTS AND DON'T CALL BEFORE COMING. I'VE HAD TO CALL MANY TIMES TO EVEN GET THEM TO COME OUT HERE. THEY WOULD COME WHENEVER THEY PLEASED AND I AM TOTALLY DISSATISFIED WITH ORKIN. COST LISTED IS MONTHLY...

THIS COMPANY IS _AWFUL_. THEY HAVE COMPLETELY BLOWN OFF TWO CONSECUTIVE APPOINTMENTS! WHAT STINKS IS IF YOU CALL THEM AFTER THEY MISS AN APPOINTMENT, NOT ONLY ARE THEY NON-APOLOGETIC BUT THEN THEY GIVE YOU EVERY EXCUSE IN THE BOOK...

TERRIBLE JOB. TWICE THEY DIDNT CALL OR SHOW UP. IN THE BEGINNING THEY WERE VERY GOOD AND RESPONSIVE BUT THE LAST TWO TIMES THEY WERE TERRIBLE. MEMBER HAD TO TELL THEM HOW TO LAY THE BAIT FOR THE MICE. THEY WERE VERY CARELESS. MEMBER HAD TO CLEAN UP THEIR MESS SO THE DOG WOULDNT EAT THE BAIT.
