I called on a Wednesday and the phone person took my info, was to the point but did alert me to the online coupon from yellow book for 50% off my service fee. She scheduled the Tech to be out on Friday. He called the night before to give us a window of time and that we were the first stop between 7 and 7:30. He called the next morning to let us know he was on his way and showed up at exactly the time he said he would. I described the problem and he knew right away what the problem was and had the spare switch to replace it at that time. He also told us exactly why it broke and how to avoid the trouble in the future, which these models of microwaves are prone to, fixed the switch in 15 minutes, and tested the machine to ensure it was working properly. I agree with what other members have said, Paul (the tech) is very good, professional, and friendly. Although they are a little high in cost it I would use them again and the coupon was useful.

Paul, the service tech, came out to diagnose the problem and was GREAT. he was in and out in 15 minutes, explained that he would order some parts and come back in a week to replace it. he explained the source of the problem on this model of microwave (which is preventable in the future) and told us what to expect for an overall bill once he returns. we got a call the next week and the part was in early, and paul made it over 2 days early to fix it. the morning of the appt he was in and out in 20 minutes again and we were good to go. paul was FANTASTIC and if all there other service techs are half as good as him i'd recommend them again. the only thing that bothered me was the refusal to try and diagnose this easy fix over the phone and have a 15 min (and $150) diagnosis, but they did at least tell us about the online coupon and was much cheaper than buying a new one.

The tech came a bit late because he got lost; it is perfectly acceptable since he called in advance to notify us. Once arrived, he was friendly and professional; he even took off his shoes so he does not track muddy snow into the house. He opened the lower panel cover of the washer, showed me how the system works and spent the next two hours patiently making sure the washer went through two cycles to ensure the system was working properly. It seems like we had stuffed too much laundry in the machine thus the big vibration. The tech showed us how to determine if the vibration is normal and left us his phone number to call back in a week if we feel the washer is still performed incorrectly. The tech even called us back to follow up with the service when I forgot to contact him a week since his visit to let him know how the machine is working. A good tech and great service; I'll call on him again if the machine ever need service.

On first visit, service-persons restarted water flow to refrigerator door, but did not check icemaker for proper operation, left with icemaker inoperative. On second visit service person first wanted to clear the supply tube to icemaker by blowing into it (ie: contaminating the supply to the icemaker), then insisted in pushing the refrigerator sideways across the vinyl flooring, tearing a rip in it (Me: "It's likely to tear the floor" "Service person: "It's on wheels." Me: "The wheels only roll front to back, not sideways..."). When I attempted to contact North Shore only a receptionist was available as the manager/owner "Is out of town". So we here we have the Perfect Storm of service organizations disaster: Unprofessional + Incompetent + Unresponsive..

Overall it went very well. I would say that the dispatcher on the phone could be a bit more courteous, but she was not rude. I don't like it when customer service people and/or dispatchers, anticipating your question, cut you off mid-sentence. I was able to get someone out to my home the next day, the second call in the morning, which was very helpful. Jacques, the repairman was courteous, he explained everything to me, he was very good with my two large dogs who are not well behaved (this didn't bother him in the least!) He gave me helpful information about my dishwasher so that I will better know when to replace it (it is quite old). The price was less than I anticipated. I will certainly use this company again in the future.

He told me that my appliance was so old that it could not be repaired. It was true. He came 3 or 4 days after I called. He certainly knew what he was talking about. I think the price was fair but when he did not do anything, I think it was unfair. He left me a discount coupon for my next service call to him. That was very nice.

My first impression when I called them was a feeling like what do you want, told them the problem and set a service date. Told the service tech the problem (like I told them over the phone) and he checked unit for problems and said he found nothing wrong and agreed it wasn't heating the water. His deduction was the water coming in wasn't hot enough and he could do nothing, I told the tech that didn't explain why the heat dry didn't work and he said the office will call about the problem and left like I was wasting his time. I then called the office and talked to the owner Bill about what was going on. His own words after I was telling him the problem were, "I have been servicing dishwashers for 28 years, don't tell me how to fix them," then HUNG UP on me. I then called back and the woman answering the phone said "that was the owner and he has nothing to say to you." I then called GE repair customer service.

I called the company where I originally bought my dishwasher and they needed to order a part, which they told me would take four weeks for the part to arrive. I ended up ordering the part myself (which took three weeks). I then only needed installation. The North Shore representative called while he was on his way (twice). He fixed the problem when he came back the next day and did not charge me. After they fixed it, there was a leak. North Shore came back again. They ordered the seal I needed, and again, did not charge me for coming back to install it. They are very service oriented and I would recommend them to anyone. They are very professional, friendly, and explanatory. They were fabulous. They told me everything they were doing as they did it. They were just incredible. I will use them again in the future if needed.

My fridge went out in the middle of Summer. North Shore was the only company covered by my warranty. The phone person was curt and unhelpful, finally grudgingly gave me an appointment a week away. I took off from work to wait for the repairman. I called the office at 8 a.m. as she had told me, to find out what time he would be by, only to be told (by the same phone person) that he might not make it at all that day because he was having truck problems. After I pressed, she told me to call back after noon. Not wanting to deal with her again, I waited and the repairman called me shortly after 1 to say he was on his way. He came when he said, was very friendly, and quickly verified that the fan was out. He said he'd order the part and told me to call the office next day to make sure. When I called, same crabby person told me it could be up to 2 weeks until the part came in and the repairman would call. I called 2+ weeks later after not hearing anything, got it installed days later--phew!

They were expensive. More expensive then anyone else but sometimes you have to pay extra for same day service. They were very attentive and they came out the same day.

I was very pleased with the service. They were able to come out within a few days, unlike a few other places I called who couldn't schedule me before a week or longer. Both the phone representative and the repairman were very courteous. They called me to ask if I was okay with being the first call of the day, and called before they came. I was especially impressed that the repairman explained what he did and showed me how to do it to avoid a repair bill in the future. When I went to work the next day, I recommended their service to my coworkers.

The repair technician was on time, very polite and friendly. He was also very knowledgeable re: the refrigerator and what to look for. He was determined to find and correct the problem - and took the time to do both. I thought the price was very reasonable, given the time he spent and the items he replaced.

I like these guys. Yes, a service call is usually around $80, but they're fast, friendly, courteous, and honest. The repairman could easily have soaked me another $100 for this part that had to replaced, but he told me how to do it myself.

WHEN I TOLD THE RECEPTIONIST WHAT WE NEEDED, I HAD MY MAKE AND MODEL NUMBERS READY SO THEY COULD HAVE THE PARTS I NEEDED. SHE NEVER ASKED FOR THEM, AND ARRANGED TO HAVE A REPAIR TECH COME OUT THE NEXT DAY. AS IT TURNS OUT, HE DIDN'T HAVE ANY OF THE PARTS WE NEEDED, AND TOLD ME OF A PLACE I COULD GO GET THEM AND INSTALL THEM MYSELF, WHICH I DID. IF I HADN'T HAD THE REPLACEMENT CORD FOR THE DISHWASHER AT MY HOME, HIS SERVICE CALL WOULD HAVE BEEN POINTLESS. HE ARRIVED AFTER THE WINDOW WE AGREED ON, BUT NOT BY MUCH. HE DID A FINE JOB OF INSTALLING THE CORD, BUT I FELT $117 WAS A BIT STEEP.

FANTASTIC! MOST IMPRESSIVE WERE THE SPEED WITH WHICH THE TECH DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM ACCURATELY AND FIXED IT AND THE FACT THAT HE VOLUNTARILY OFFERED TO TAKE 50% OFF THE BILL IF I HAD THE YELLOW BOOK COUPON. IT SAVED ME $45. ALSO GOOD TO KNOW: THEY START CALLS EARLY - 6 OR 6:30 I THINK - FOR PEOPLE WHO NEED TO LEAVE FOR WORK. VERY PROFESSIONAL - WOULD DEFINITELY USE AGAIN!

HE TOLD ME WHAT WAS BROKEN, WHY IT BROKE, VERY LIKELY, AND WHAT IT WOULD COST TO REPAIR AND AN ESTIMATE ON WHAT A NEW COMPARABLE UNIT WOULD COST. HE WAS ON-TIME, VERY POLITE AND FRIENDLY. GAVE THE IMPRESSION OF BEING VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND GAVE AN ACCURATE ESTIMATE OF THE REPLACEMENT COST.

I CALLED AND WAS ABLE TO GET AN APPOINTMENT THE NEXT DAY. THE PLUMBER, JACQUES, WAS POLITE AND RESPECTFUL AND HE EXPLAINED EVERYTHING. ONE POSSIBLE IMPROVEMENT WOULD BE TO INCLUDE A WIPE-DOWN OF THE APPLIANCE AREA AS THERE WERE SMUDGES AND DIRT LEFT ON THE WASHER AND DRYER AFTER THE SERVICE. OVERALL, THIS WAS A VERY GOOD EXPERIENCE.
