CD was able to clear both with no problem.  The plumber was competent, polite and cleaned up after himself. The cost was cheaper than other plumbers.  I will definitely use CD again and highly recommend them.

I contacted CD Plumbing by email and Marc, the owner, called me that same afternoon.  An appointment was made for that same week.  Marc and his assistant showed up on time and I immediately had the feeling that, besides being very friendly and caring, he knew his stuff.  Before tackling the bathtub, I suggested that he first take care of the shutoffs to the second floor in the basement.  I expected that to be an expansive repair for it would require opening up an old plastered ceiling.  He put me at ease by telling me that since the pipes are fine, plenty of water pressure, I could just use my newly installed and now accessible City of Chicago main water shutoff (installed by the city as part of a no-cost water meter installation).  This would alleviate the need for such an expensive repair.  From that point on I felt confident that I could trust him.  He repaired the fixture and then proceeded at my request to check some other things.  He noted that my water heater in the basement was not connected properly to the water supply (visible corrosion) and took care of it by redoing it according to city code.  All the time as he was doing the work I was watching what and how he was doing things, which he did not mind at all.  After all was done and thoroughly cleaned up, I can only say that I'm very pleased with the end results and not having the other expenses.

We called them after a general handyman service was unable to complete the job. They showed up within two hours and the plumber was friendly and knowledgeable. It was a tough job that required much persistence (they had to drive in an electric snake more than 30 feet multiple times) but in the end got things working again. The plumber cleaned up after himself and made recommendations for purchasing a new garbage disposal, something we had planned to do before this happened. They were here for a full two hours not including cleanup time but only charged for an hour and a half.
