I needed mulch and topsoil for fall lawn and garden projects. The person who answered the phone was very helpful and able to answer my questions. I set up a delivery time, gave my credit card info, and drew a big chalk circle on the driveway. I came home from work to find a big pile of mulch and a second pile of topsoil. I thought both were good quality and the price was very reasonable. The topsoil, in particular, I thought was better quality than the bags of topsoil I had previously gotten at the big box stores. I even got a follow-up call a couple of days later to make sure everything was satisfactory.
High quality, efficient, good cost, friendly. Plan to use again.

Dispatcher was very responsive and found a delivery date (from a cancellation) that met my needs, just a few days after calling them. Garden soil was delivered as and when promised. I've ordered soil and mulch from Buy the Yard a number of times, and am very pleased with the quality of the materials and their service. Highly recommended.

I just happened to drive past this business last winter, took the telephone # listed on the sign and tried to call several times. Apparently they are closed during the winter months and there was no answering service to advise when/if they would reopen. I continued to call every month or so and finally spoke to a lady in early March stating that they were just getting back to work but on a short schedule until April. I visited the facility on 5/8/12 and spoke to 2 separate ladies in the trailer office and told them I had a $300 budget and wanted the biggest boulder for the money delivered to my property in 60625. I picked out one boulder and a gentleman scooped it up and weighed it and I was told I could get a bigger one and still be under my budget. He returned that boulder and picked up another one, weighed it and I said ok. We scheduled the delivery for 7:30 am on 5/10/12...they would put the boulder on a flat bed truck and trailer the forklift to do the placement. They called a few minutes before they arrived, I met him outside and he maneuvered the city streets, morning traffic and the alley like a pro. He put the rock exactly where I wanted it and in exactly the right position (this required some turning and scooting of the rock) and I could tell he was pretty handy with the forklift. It took less than 30 minutes and my total cost included the delivery and tax. Then this morning I received a follow up/courtesy call from the company to insure I was satisfied with the product and the service. They did an excellent job and I would recommend them to anyone. They also seem to have a full complement of flat stones, river rocks, mulches, etc.
