Tanela Auto & Truck Repair

We’ve been going to them for years. Their work is all guaranteed or warrantied and I’ve never had a problem with any type of service that they’ve done. They do everything well. When you take something in, they will give you a timeline and if there’s any problem getting a part of anything, they will notify you and let you know so you’re not hanging and typically, the work is done quickly but very well done.

He is an honest person.  I have used them for a lot of different things.

Bob and his guys did a great, great job.  We knew that the Odyssey transmission needed to be replaced; Odyssey transmissions are known to be crap and this was our 2nd one.  Because the Odyssey is pretty old, Bob replaced it with a rebuilt transmission, which saved us some money.  Bob did, I think, some work on the suspension of my Pilot.  Everything went just fine.  Bob lent me a car to get around during the day.  The cars were ready as promised, and he told us about some things in the cars that would eventually need to be done, but not right away.  I was very impressed, and very happy, with the results. Bob explained to us what needed to be done, and what things could be held for later.  We will be going back there for future work on our cars.

They were cheaper than the dealership, did the work quickly, and gave me a loaner car while mine was in the shop.
But the loaner car they gave me ran out of gas while I was driving it because the gas gauge wasnt working correctly and the car had almost no gas in it. I dont know why they loan out cars that are so low on gas and dont inform customers that the gas gauge doesnt work. But they brought me the gas since luckily the car ran out not too far from their shop (I live nearby and was running errands). The guy who brought me the gas told me he notified the owner many times that the gas gauge doesnt work correctly.
When I picked up my car I could tell something wasnt right while driving it around the parking lot. I went back inside and they told me I needed to pay for an alignment. I dont know why they didnt tell me this ahead of time and why they told me the job was done and my car was ready to pick up when it was not. I was scared to drive it because the alignment was so far off. It was like they didnt even test drive it themselves after finishing the job. And on top if it they were asking for more money to fix it even though they told me the job was done. I had to very slowly and carefully drive my car to another shop to verify that it was indeed an alignment issue (which they identified easily just by looking at it because the control arms were so far off) so I had to take it back to Tanela to finish the job. I refused to pay for the alignment since the car was not drivable without it and should have been part of the job and they eventually agreed. 
The quality of the work was poor because they didnt even check my car before telling me the job was complete and the customer service was bad because they gave me a hassle about completing the job when I found out the car was still not driveable. Giving me a car that had almost no gas in it and a faulty gas gauge was not good service either.

We went to a national chain who told us that fixing our air conditioner would cost $1555 to repair on our Grand Marqee. We had seen Tanela in a newsletter being recommended by someone we knew, so we decided to give them a call. I spoke with Bob on the phone and told him what the national chain had told us needed to be done, and he said while its not impossible, but in 30 years he had never seen that many parts go out at once. I took the car in for him to look at it, and he charged me $945 less than the national chain had quoted us. He fixed the A/C at a great price and it works just perfectly now. He is very honest and a big money saver.

Bob and his team are very good at what they do. Fast, efficient, cost effective and they deliver personalized service. Great customer focus.  Just about everyone in my family that lives locally takes their cars to Tanela.  My sister-in-law and her family have been returning to them for many years.

I've been a customer of Tanelo Auto for a VERY long time. I can't imagine going anywhere else for auto repairs or advice. When getting an oil change at a drive through location recently I was advised the coolant was low and to get a pressure test. Of course, I then went to Tanelo. Turned out no leaks were found. I also had mentioned that there seemed to be a 'tire or wheel' repetitive ba-ba-ba sound when driving at about 35-40 mph and I didn't know if there was a problem. As I had purchased the tires through Tanela a few years ago, they rotated and rebalanced the wheels... and now everything is fine!  I received all the above services gratis.
Whenever work has been done on my now 14-yr. old SUV, it was always explained in 'plain English', costs were clearly identified, and when something was fixed, it was FIXED RIGHT the FIRST TIME. Even better?  If something is not needed or an immediate priority, you can trust that you'll get that advice as well. The mechanics are clearly skilled professionals and the owner always initiates a follow-up call to ensure you are happy with the results. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Very stress free!

I received a call from Bob about 1 hour later and he said I did not need brakes yet and should wait.  He also stated that I had a rim leak on my tire, and fixed it at no charge.  I'm sure many other places would have fixed those brakes, told me I needed a new tire and laughed all the way to the bank.  This isn't the first time Bob has saved me and my family money on car repairs.  I really appreciate the honesty and great service at Tanela's and would highly recommend them.

Bob at Tanela Auto has serviced our cars(1 Honda Accord and 3 Subaru Foresters) over the last several years. Over the Thanksgiving weekend,  he repaired a  tire on my husband's car that picked up a construction bolt.  We've had  brakes replaced, AC service and general auto maintenance. Bob's prices are very fair.  He's good at explaining the extent of the repairs and offering options. He also follows up to insure the integrity of the service.
