KONSLER LTD

Description of Work: In approximately early August, 2008 I purchased a casement window from Konsler, Ltd; window and installation was $1,298.78. I was told that the window would require 6-8 weeks for delivery; it arrived on time and was installed as scheduled. On the day of installation (after the installation), I realized that the window was not the correct one (I ordered a window designed to open, the window which was installed is not designed to open). My house is older and not air conditioning so this is quite important to us. After explaining to the installer and the salesman that a mistake had been made, they apologized and agreed to replace the window with the correct one at no cost. Despite the mistake, all seemed to be going quite well. I was told that it would require another 6-8 weeks for the replacement window to arrive. Several weeks ago (now in late November) I was notified that the window had arrived and that installation would be in early December (I think the exact date was to be 12/4/08). I have not heard from Konsler since that time and have been unable to reach them by telephone (there is a message stating that "due to unforseen circumstances" they are closed and their voice mail box is full). Their web site has no contact information. After locating the salesman's card, I e-mailed Vincent Dattilo and an waiting to hear from him. I presume they are out of business, I asked Vincent for the window so, if necessary, I can arrange for someone else to do the installation, although a refund on the cost of installation would be nice. The breakdown on the cost is: Window: $839.98, labor $400.00, tax $58.80. Just for the record, I located Konsler, Ltd. from the Eagle window web site as an Eagle distributor and installer. Also, I had seen their professional looking ads in several magazines. Their business appeared quite professional as was their service. Overall, I pleased until now.
