I had Tom Krick and Charlie Panagakis complete a Home Inspection yesterday for a home that I am purchasing.  They did an unbelievable job and I was extremely impressed with their work.  They took the time to pay attention to every little detail and explain each step of the process as they went along.  They also provided invaluable information about operating and maintaining all appliances, such as the furnace, air conditioner, hot water heater, septic system and well.  I was unfamiliar with the well and septic system, as I had never had experience with them before.  They were very patient and made sure I understood each facet of the septic and well systems before moving on to explain all each of the other individual parts of the home.   They were incredibly thorough and covered every little detail.  I have had a few home inspections in the past and have never had any of the inspectors come anywhere near the efficiency and attention to detail that was provided by Tom and Charlie.  I would highly recommend Homeland Property Inspections to anyone considering purchasing a home as they went above an beyond in providing exceptional service.  Trust me, you will be completely satisfied with the inspection provided by Tom and Charlie.  They are the best!   

You know how it is when you make an offer on a house.....  all heck breaks loose because there is so much to be done.  Tom Krick was my contact at HomeLand.  As usual, we had 5 days from the date of the offer to get the job done.  This was right before labor day weekend.  Tom came out the next day to perform the inspection.  He arrived on time and did a very thorough report.  He went over everything about the house with me - what was great and what was not so great.  He answered all of my (many) questions very patiently in language that I could understand.  He also showed me how to perform maintenance on everything in the future.  That was very valuable information to me, a first time single family home buyer.  Tom gave me a complete summary on site, as well as helped me understand which issues were critical versus which were things I'd want to work on in the future.  The final written report came the same day as the inspection, including photos of each finding.  This will make it much easier to discuss with the current owner.  I also wanted the home Radon tested.  Tom generally does that test, but was gong out of town beginning labor day weekend and wouldn't be able to pick up the tester.  Tom arranged for another vendor to come the same day and place the machine so that I would have the results prior to closing.  I was very nervous going into the inspection because I knew I'd have to ramp up my understanding of home maintenance issues quickly.  I felt very comfortable speaking with Tom, and as I said earlier, he made everything so easy to understand.
