If you want good service from a bike shop this is the place to go.
The bikes had been easy to tune up and required no additional work. We then purchased the trailer hitch bike rack. This is when the customer service became extraordinary. I'd had a trailer hitch installed on my SUV about seven years ago, but never used it. We had always intended on buying a bike rack, but hadn't gotten around to it until now. When taking off the hitch cover, it was clear that the hitch itself was awfully rusty. The bike rack wouldn't slide in. The Bike Connection employee spent at least 30 minutes trying to file down the rust in the hitch so he could install the bike rack for us. He went above and beyond our expectations. He brought out a couple different files, a small wire brush, then a drill fitted with a larger wire brush. He succeeded in cleaning out 90% of the rust, but the rack still wouldn't slide in. Another helpful employee then suggested we go to Master Hitch in Palatine to have them complete the cleaning. The progress being made was so slow and so incremental that it seemed that Master Hitch might be able to easily help us. We plan on going there next weekend.
We plan on going back to Bike Connection for all future bicycle needs. And I'm going to recommend them to everyone I know. This shop is a gem.
