Associa - Schaumburg

Description of Work: I'm the Board President of a 74 unit townhouse community in the Chicago suburbs. We have employed Vanguard for many years with lackluster to poor performance on their part. I have been President for only 4 years and so far we have had 4 different property managers. Only one of the four has given us good customer service and she only lasted a little over a year. Vanguard charges us close to $1000 a month to manage our property, but the volunteer Board members feel like we have to manage them; making sure they follow-up on what we ask with their duties to fulfill our governing documents and with our vendors. I really don't think they train their managers very well and the managers probably have too many properties to manage that all of us get short-changed of their time and attention. We are considering changing management companies, but Angie's list does not have a lot of these types of listings to choose from at this time. Plus, we have one more year of our contract with Vanguard.
