Rick and Tony and Larry did a fantastic job! Gutted the both baths down to the studs. Installed new tub, wall tile, sinks, floors...the works. What was most important in this project was our time. We did not have a lot of it to go around store to store and look at endless tile samples, vanities, and counter tops. We discussed our needs with Rick. We wanted functional, not fancy. There were a few things we were specific about but many other things we left to his expertise and invited suggestions. We gave him a color palate we wanted to from with and he brought over several tile choices and combinations and let us pick what we liked. That saved us A LOT of time. All we had to do was go to the local hardware super store and pick out our faucets, towel bars, light fixtures, and mirror.
ACS was not the lowest bid we received for the project but other contractors required us to go and buy everything first and then they'd come and install it. With limited time to work with, we were willing to pay more for the convenience of not having to do a lot of running around and we feel we got great value for our money. Rick and his guys have an obvious passion for their craft. Their attention to detail is impressive. We couldn't be more pleased with the outcome and look forward to having two bathrooms that we and our house guests can enjoy for many years to come.
This year's job was substantially smaller. I had sought bids from 2 other contractors. Both of them showed up and promised to get back shortly with bids. Neither of them has responded to inquiries since I first spoke with them in April. Bad businessmen.
Rick and his team were very responsive in providing a bid. There was some delay to getting the project done. However, it was weather related. Whenever I needed to contact Rick, he always was available or quickly responded. Among my concerns was the exterior venting of the upstairs exhaust fan based upon news articles I'd reviewed. Rick layer to rest my concerns and provided two fans that are significantly quieter than the ones they replaced.
Overall, the company is not the least expensive but they are professional, reliable and do great work. I'd highly recommend them.
Our kitchen was transformed from white cabinets and terra cotta granite, to warm wood cabinets that really blend well with the granite. Two cabinets have glass fronts with lighting (their idea) and are a beautiful way to show off glasses. The finished result is a spacious, warm and elegant kitchen.
It was an record warm summer, and we had issues with our air conditioner. They did not complain about the heat and even brought industrial fans to help circulate the air in the kitchen.
They arrived on time every day and were cheerful and personanble .
We are very happy with the quality of the work.
We would not hesitate to recommend this Company to anyone - professional, personable and respectful.
Rick and Tony will work with you to design your dream space and with minimal interruption to your life and your home.
Thank you Advanced Construction Solutions - even better the second time!
ACS brought in a designer and with her help and Rick Howe's ( co owner ) they created a model that would transform my tiny ( 9x12 ) space with 4 cabinets into a cook friendly space with 12 cabinets - a new arched entrance into my Dining Room and miles of granite work area. ( counter )
The overall look is spacious and warm and elegant.
Our old kitchen ( the original 63 yr old Georgian ) was transformed completely .
The cabinets, ceiling, and floor removed . We were helped every step along the way from choosing the cabinets and tile to finalizing the actual layout of the new Kitchen
Going into this project we had no idea what was possible . .
For anyone who knows they need a new kitchen - but don't have a clue where to begin .
This will be your first and ONLY call!!
.
They made what could have been a nightmare into a seamless well organized production .
The workers were obsessively clean , bringing in industrial fans and vacuums to minimize contain the dust during demolition.
They even sealed off the work area with a zippered heavy plastic " wall .and protected our carpeting for the entire first floor .
They arrived on time every day and were cheerful and personanble .
If there was any problems -I never knew about them because Rick took care of it while sparing us the drama .
They had to move Duct work and rewire all the electric . They even brought our old circuit box up to code so that we could use our basement as a temporary kitchen during the process - giving us extra outlets and they changred the faucet in my laundry tub so that i could use it to wash dishes . We only paid for parts - no extra charge . We tiled the 13 steps fo the basement and since we chose Porclein tile . Each step had 15 cuts on it .
The finished product is a work of art !
My husband and I cannot say enough about the quality of the work and the extradorinary beauty of the finished product .
We would not hesitate to recommend this Company to anyone ~ For professional craftmanship and personable respectful Tradesman ( usally an oxymoron in today's world ! )
We actually were sad to have Rick and his workers finish the project - they were all so great to have around - .

Thank you Advance Construction Solutions for giving me my Dream Tuscan Kitchen at a fair price !!
During the bidding process we also chose them to complete our plumbing and carpentry work.
I completed the demo and painting myself and had a good friend who is an electrician do the electrical.
Hardwood floors were replaced by another contractor.
Tony and Rick are without question the most professional contractors I have ever worked with. Not only are they fairly priced, they are dedicated, honest, punctual, detailed, and are very neat. Having completed several projects in the past with mixed results with other contractors, ACS delivered on every level. Best of all there were no major surprises to speak of during the project. Any issues that arose, and there were not many, they took care of it. They were also flexible and accommodated any changes that we had along the way.
I purchases a pad and protect package to protect my new floors and the pathway to and from the outside that was money well spent. They cleaned up daily and especially at the end like it was their own house. They even helped bring out my garbage on two different pick up days.
If you think this is too good to be true, give them a call and see for yourself. I have dealt with many sub par contractors in the past, and it was refreshing to discover ACS. My wife and I will definitely be using them on future projects.
We had intended to use a different contractor, but after he refused to correct inferior work he performed in our laundry room, we needed to find a new contractor quickly due to the impending delivery of our cabinets. Fortunately, ACS was sympathetic to our situation and squeezed us into their schedule. Tony and Rick, his partner, are down-to-earth and honest. We liked the fact that one of them would be on the job at all times. Their price was higher than we had expected to pay, but the end-result was well worth it and they were well within the range of quotes we got from other Angie's contractors.
Habitat for Humanity had already removed our entire kitchen, but Tony had to correct for several things like missing pieces (brand new garbage disposal) unavoidable wall damage, etc. Tony used only one man to assist with hanging the cabinets, the crown moulding and painting, so we had no strange people running around our house. His partner, Rick, also helped on two occasions. Tony gave valuable advice based on his many years of experience, which we appreciated.
Tony ran into an electrical challenge with our new electric stove because we were moving it's location one foot to the right. The electrical connection on the floor did not match up with the stove connection. But he was able to resolve it without busting thru the ceiling of our new basement. That one foot move also created issues with ventilation for the microwave we were installing overhead. Again, Tony resolved this without the need for a second hole in our house.
The desk area in our kitchen is angular on one side, again requiring Tony to make accomodations to the cabinetry, which he did quite well.
Tony and ACS are detail-oriented and meticulous. They are also very patient and respectful of your wishes and property. They took great care coming and going on our new hardwood floors (installed prior to their hiring). The work could have been completed sooner, but we were indecisive on a few things. We are extremely pleased with the work performed. Our kitchen is gorgeous and our dining room and living room look like new.
ACS's work is high-quality and Tony and Rick are trustworthy. I would not hesistate to use ACS again, or to recommend them highly.
They are clean, on time and trustworthy.
I think it was late March when I called ACS for a quote. I spoke with Tony and we met within a day or so. When he arrived at my home, I was immediately impressed by the fact that he was exactly on time (a characteristic that was displayed, more or less, throughout the entire remodeling). Our initial conversation went great. He told me that he and his partner, Rick, have been in business about 10 years (I think) and have extensive experience in both kitchen and bath remodeling. He assured me that if I contracted ACS to do the work, he and Rick would be the ones in my home as they do not sub-contract the work to others. Tony also assured me that once ACS began my work, they would not interrupt it by working on other jobs. I was very impressed with Tony's honesty and professionalism and was convinced that ACS was truly dedicated to doing a quality job. I decided at this point that we could work together. Tony recommended that I meet with his designer, Cathey, and about a week later, Tony, Rick, and Cathey came to my home.
I took everyone through the house and explained what my general ideas were for the kitchen and bath upgrades. While I sat with Cathey deciding on the material and style of the custom cabinets, Tony and Rick examined the work areas to take measurements and begin estimating labor costs. Before they all left, I agreed to pay Cathey a standard fee for a set of drawings (cabinet layout and tile designs) for both rooms. She said it would take about a week to provide them and Tony agreed to give me a detailed, written estimate for both jobs (one for the kitchen and one for the bath) when the drawings were complete. Again, I was very impressed with the level of professionalism. I received written quotes that were within my budget requirements and we signed our contracts on April 15. Now there was nothing to do but take a time out until the cabinets were fabricated which I was told would take 6 - 8 weeks. I used this time to do all the shopping for tile, appliances, bathroom fixtures, bathtub, toilet, sinks, etc.
The cabinets were ready and demolition began on June 22. Tony and Rick paid a great deal of attention to keeping the work areas as clean as possible during the entire process. I was living in the house during this entire project and they made every effort to minimize the inevitable disruptions. The work progressed on time and there were many times that I was able to make minor changes without any objections from Tony or Rick. They also made suggestions themselves on things they've experienced that I agreed would be improvements I had not thought of. None of these changes incurred any costs above the original quote. The materials that ACS provided were always of the highest quality that I am certain will last long after I leave.
All the work was completed on September 19, almost to the day of the estimated completion date. On time and only a little over budget (the latter was my fault for upgrading some materials and appliances - lots of marble in the bath and double wall ovens in the kitchen, for starters), but the finished product is amazing. Three months of in-home construction is not a pleasant thing but Advanced Construction Solutions working for me and with me every step of the way made the experience almost painless. I'm very happy with the results.
