We had been living in our house for 2 years with a nonfunctioning sprinkler system.  The previous owners never used the system so it had not be in use for over 15 years.  The Village sent out a notice that the RPZ valve on our sprinkler system had to be changed.  We were not familiar with sprinkler system or RPZ at all, so the village gave us a list of companies who may be able to help us.  My husband called the first name on the list, A+ Plumbing.  He made the appointment and the plumber came out to test the RPZ but the plumber found that we didn't have a RPZ valve to test.  My husband signed the invoice, where the total amount due was left blank.  We didnt expect to pay anything because the call was to test the RPZ and there was no testing done.  We then got another invoice in the mail that read "Customer called to have us test his RPZ on irrigation system at his residence.  No RPZ was found to test.  1.0 hour labor $122."  The original invoice that we signed was more like. "No RPZ...dispatch time 230, time of arrival 300, time of departure, 330."  So the company basically charged us from time of dispatch to time of departure, 1 hour, and called it "labor."  If the company had been upfront about a service charge or travel charge there would be no problem, but there was no 1 hour of labor.  So basically they charged us to test something that we didnt have.  When I called that kept saying that plumbers are expensive, and we have to pay wages, blah, blah, blah.  How about customer service?  With no customers, you will have no need for plumbers or wages, etc.  I like to give small business a try but they just cant compete against the larger companies and like to nickel and dime their customers.

They were prompt and professional. They got the work done very quickly. They cleaned up after themselves. They followed up by showing us the camera view of the line so that we could see where the problem was. Another company had come to clear the sewer line before. They had thought that a concrete clean out cap was blocking the pipe. We could see that it was a curve in the pipe which they had not been able to clear out. The guys from A Plus Plumbing were persistent and were able to clear the curve. They were very good. They charged us $250 for the job.

PROFESSIONAL. SERVICE WAS QUICK. THE FINAL PRICE WAS FAR LESS THAN OTHERS QUOTED FOR A FLAT RATE FOR THE JOB. HOURLY RATE SEEMS IN LINE WITH MARKET. QUALITY OF WORK SEEMS GOOD. WE WILL USE THEM AGAIN.

THEY SHOWED UP LATE BUT THEY DID SHOW. THEY PERFORMED THE JOB ADEQUATELY.
