Since 1995, Same Day Furniture Stripping has been taking pride in restoring pieces of history, family treasures and found pieces all over the Midwest. All pieces are treated by hand with an attention to detail that displays the deep pride in craftsmanship felt by the specialists here. Items are first repaired to prevent glue from soaking into the raw wood. Everything is then Hand-Stripped using a customized flow-over system. The stripping liquid is kept in a reservoir, which is then pumped through a nylon bristle brush and is quickly and efficiently applied from top to bottom to remove the old finish. Next, a specialized rinse mixture is used to even out color tones and bring mineral discoloration to the surface where they can be sanded off during the prepping phase. During the prep phase, drawers and doors are fitted and stopped, slides and glides checked, leaves fitted, and detailing completed. Minor repairs are done, and all surfaces, including drawer insides, are sanded to finish quality. Finally, during the finishing process, a hand-mixed colorfast base stain is used to bring items to the desired color. The pieces are then finished with lacquer topcoats that are hand-rubbed to the desired sheen. Whether it’s a new look for your table, repairing an antique or crafting something new, these experts take the time and care required to return to you a piece of furniture better than when originally constructed.
