Just wanted to say how impressed I was with Donovan and Matt from Just In Time HVAC company. They came to my house to look at my water heater. Within a minute they diagnosed my problem, then they explained different options that would fit my needs and my budget. They made it very easy, and after they explained the ease of it, I went for a tankless water heater. They set up an appointment, relit my pilot light, and even noticed that I was having trouble with my furnace exhaust pipe, as it was nearly had no rise to it, which he explained could cause carbon monoxide issues. He brought new pipe when he came to do the main job, which I might add they fixed as part of the overall job for free! Donovan was always looking to make sure his new work and my existing work would be safe and efficient. He noticed my intake gas pipe was only hand tight, he fixed that. He was always working, spotting, and figuring out what was the best for each spot, while Matt used his youth and strength to effortlessly lift everything up and down from the truck to my basement and back. Overall an amazing job, with a price point over a thousand dollars less than other quotes. If you have a heating or air issue, I would highly recommend you call JustInTime first and have them out. Service man, Jeff, was out. didn't have a part. He went back to get the part. He tried the part but it didn't work. He said he probably had the wrong part and had to order it. Jeff also recommended a plan that cost $180 to give us discounts on future service. Unfortunately, we purchased that. Next day, we got a call from their office and they said they had to order the part. The following day, a different service man, Tim, came out. He wanted to give us a quote on a new furnace. He said the company wasn't able to get the part. Meantime, my husband found the part on Amazon. Tim also said that Jeff wired things "backward" and that if they obtained the part it would cost $400 +. When their office called the person on the phone said the part would cost $1000, only if they found the part. Office claimed that the part was unavailable. Amazon cost for the part was under $200, including shipping and tax. My conclusion: Just In Time wanted to sell us a new furnace, when all we needed was a part. Too many red flags for us! In the meantime, we left a message at their office to have the owner of the company call us. We have yet to hear from that person. The part in question is a circuit board: Pilot Ignition Circuit Board part number s8600m.

Service man started replacing parts before he even checked to see if there was gas coming into the line (which there wasn't), then replaced a fuse using one of our own old ones without telling us and charged us for it.  He left us with no heat.  Told us to call Nicor to check for gas and that they would restart the boiler.  Nicor repaired their parts and restarted the boiler not knowing which way to turn the handle because there was no directions left by Just in Time.  They turned it the wrong way and left.  About an hour later we went down to check things and discovered the boiler was running steam full tilt and may well have caused an explosion!
We called Just in Time back and the same service guy came and said we needed more new parts and it was going to be very expensive.....tried selling us a new unit.  Ultimately he left requiring me to sign a digitized statement with no printout so I had no paperwork.  
I called and complained about the $200+ bill and got it reduced to $101 after threatening them.  Can you believe that service man told me to turn my oven on with the door open all night for heat?   I will not let that serviceman back in my home.

The man who Just in Time sent out snaked out our pipes and said he went 110 feet. The pipes were never cleared and he kept doing the same thing over and over for 3 hours. I was shocked that he didn't get a larger snake or after an hour suggest a camera or simply that he couldn't help us. They then offered us a discount on getting a camera, but called us back in an hour to say they couldn't get a camera for 2 weeks. We called a different company who brought out a larger snake (in diameter) and they had the clog cleared in 45 minutes for $150.00. This companies name was Tony's drain and they charge by the job, not the hour and they guarantee their work.

The furnace had failed a few days before and was worked on by another company, but when we tried to replace the thermostat ourselves we had complications.  Just in Time sent someone out that same day to assist.  When he arrived, he was polite, pleasant, and patient.  As it turned out, he found a 'dead-man' switch that was causing the whole problem, and it was quickly resolved.  It might seem simple, but we never would have known that that was what we needed to do.  $169 was the minimum charge for responding emergently, and that's all he billed us.  It was worth it to have heat!

I cannot say enough good things about this company. Customer service was beyond patient with my questions and rescheduling issues. Workers were prompt. Had their work cut out for them as not only had the house had been empty for 2 years but had NEVER been cleaned. Did a thorough job; all without complaints. Have had ducts cleaned before but this company knows what they're doing. Best money I ever spent!

They are very punctual, seemed to be very knowledgeable and rather reasonable in prices. I think he can get just about everything, have variety of equipment. They are very good, call and let you know when they are actually on the way and basically I didn't expect to see anybody yesterday when I called and they came out that same day, basically within an hour the day I called so I was lucky that way.
