The original sales person measured our kitchen cabinets job wrong. The countertops were installed before this error on Colonial's part was discovered. The cabinets were installed an inch and a quarter OFF the overall dimension of  the kitchen wall. This was a custom designed ( new construction) home. The salesman acknowledged his error, and did nothing about it. We were advised that we were "stuck"with this because the counter tops were already installed, (in 2001).

The countertops are now being replaced, (2011). We went back to Colonial to rectify this mistake. For a one and a quarter inch wooden spacer, required to rectify this measurement error,   Colonial provided an estimate of $371.91 for a painted wooden spacer. The installation was an additional $450.00. (A TOTAL of $821.91) to fix Colonial's original error.

When I requested some consideration because of their original mistake, I was advised, after they conferred about this request, that " this price was the price". They would not assume any responsibility for their previous work. We were just trying to "fix" their mistake prior to the installation of our new countertops.   We were told (October, 2011), that if we had brought this to Colonial's attention back in 2001, they would have fixed it then.

This is not what we were told by the Colonial representative
when we brought it to his attention. He told us (in 2001), that he had hoped we wouldn't notice his error. But that it was too late to change anything when we brought it to his attention, because the countertops were already installed, (in 2001).

We needed a new vanity in the bathroom and we have a very narrow bathroom. Every other company said they would have to send the vanity in about two or three pieces. Colonial Kitchen said they would be able to send it in one piece. They had the best price as well. When he came with the vanity he got it in my bathroom in one piece and he didn't chip anything while bringing it in.
